Seeing as I would barely get high lvl drops in a whole climb and when I tested this my inventory was over flowing with higher lvl drops I would say yes. People have most definitely gotten good/godly drops from this wheather they realize they were going into the well Loaded or not is another question.

Are you comparing this to the last time you played (years ago) or between the time you returned and now? I only ask because ALOT has been changed with drop rates since the last time you played. High tier items drop significantly more now.

My more recent play.
If you test this yourself I think you will see what I mean
My solo climbs take like 15-25 hours witch was enough time to work this out.
I would like to be wrong about this so if anyone thinks that is the case please lmk so I can stop wondering lol

The algorithm is extremely gradual so it surely wouldn't make a difference. You're probably getting more items because of the level you are welling at and the time you are taking to kill the monster.

The algorithm resets on some levels depending on if you get any higher tier item while whistling so let's say a lvl 15 item drops after whistling a wave or two. Something tells me that affects the algorithm and you'll get "less drops" shortly after. Also if you just welled a mid level item then it would drop your chance to find anything good after that for a while.

I would have guessed the same thing. I would definitely not expect paul to make a change to the drops that can be manipulated in such a quick and simple way. The algorithm change in my mind means more like if there have been a large number of low value rolls in a row then a higher roll will come out eventually. I would be extremely surprised to find out that he put in something that can easily be manipulated and exploited for farming gear.

The only exploit here is getting a well that doesn't blow up after one item.

I used 5x maps with +1 well on them this weekend and didnt even manage to finish 50 white items... Welling is broken.

I believe the only algorithm being used in this welling / whistling scenario is the Drop Rate %. The quality/tier of the items are based off the Monster Difficulty calculated by the Drop Quality % and x% Magic Luck. So, we know that well monsters have a higher Monster Difficulty % than the Tier being dropped into the well, thus making this ideal for trying to find better items at a faster rate.

EDIT: Remember that you can drop a level 25 item into the well, and a side drop can be two(2) tiers higher = level 35.

This could be very true the items were above my pay grade when I started testing this.
Thanks for the response!

I hope no harm comes of this /:
I have been out for a while and if this is a thing I found it independently so I thought everyone should know what’s up.

i tried that with 30 wells ish.. i always "charged up" 3-4 monsters before doing the well.. but i couldnt really say that i got too good drops (nothing close to useful yet)

Did you find that there more side well drops?

mostly 4-6 ish.. so this could have a good effect on the amount.. but i welled close to my own lvl (doing lvl 30-35 wells on lvl 30-33 myself) so there are usually some sidedrops)
