lol this honestly made no sense at all. If I take it seriously my response would be... hmm okay show me a better armor for sale.

I think it's safe to say and the overall community might agree that there's very few true tank armors for sale that have a good ee.

How does adding more into Int help with tanking? I've never seen a HH or Pally or other tank put points into Int.

It's fine though, it's your opinion.

I think he is referring to the quality of the armor... the higher EE on it means that the quality is higher (Passive). Intelligence & Vitality stat points increase defense: Intelligence vs Magical and Vitality vs Physical... but I am guessing the Mod "+X Physical or Magical Damage Reduction" would be better on armor (again Passive because of the armors quality by having those mods on it).

Donning an Armor does not increase in experience, you are taught how to put it on and you repeat the process.

I also should have added that my view would be slightly different if there were Shields in the game, fundamentally a shield does provide more defense, HOWEVER, skill in using a shield with your weapon and armor should have Shield Defense proficiency. And of course you should not use a Shield with Heavy weapons, but you can wield Arm bracers for additional defense without gaining Defense proficiency.

There are other things that could be added to the game.

If you want a defense prof, first take a look at the mods you get on items already, parry, block, phys or magical damage reduction ... doesn't need to be a prof.

Apologies I wasn't trying to avoid or dodge your response. I was in and out today and I honestly thought I did but didn't respond.

I get what you're saying, my perspective isn't so literal in regards to what is realistic.

I view it as, we have prof gain for pretty much all aspects of the game, and I don't think there would be any harm to the game if we added armor prof. Like John was saying, we would have conditions on how prof is gained and it can be a work in progress.

I think that it would help players in a number of ways as I have mentioned beforehand.

I know there's attributes like parry, block, dmg reduction etc., but there's also offensive ones like armor pierce, crit strike and that doesn't harm having offensive profs on weapons and charms.

My conclusive point is that I think armor prof would help people in a number of ways and it would not harm the game in any way.

It's a very difficult market and prices have changed tons over the years. Newer players do not have it easy and prof gains can make a little difference.

I see where you are coming from, nothing wrong with that.

Wow... I deleted my wall of explaining how I don't use EE armor anyway and this would benefit a player like me and then realized: How much of a difference would it be having Rank 25 Padded or Normal Robe = 25% Enhanced Effect? (which you should get really fast using stat armor only and solo'ing).

Even though I see the benefits of it for my play style, I don't see it as being beneficial other than people switching to use more Stat armor in simple MQ climbs, as for MM or 101 runs, maybe a different story.

Add Shields (there are many types) to the game, yup, would like that. Also would like Bow / Arrows with addition to Archery Profs etc.

For all profs you have to actively do some clicking to gain some.
For armor you don't and that is why I don't see it happening.

EDIT: this was something I suggested years ago also, on top there should be Dura for weapons, so a Smithing Skill and a Smith in the Marketplace and pay for repairs.

So basically make the game more expensive for people to play? Aside from vault costs and marketplace fees you want to add other costs? I wanted to make changes that would benefit the players haha not cost them more fg, esp new players.
