Old school market would fix most of the market issues. Used to be, when you listed something, it stayed on the market until it was sold, you removed it from the market, or the season reset. You also had 10 market slots per character.

The problem with the old system was that people would use the market as a storage place, listing items for well over value to just stash them there, ending up with a market that was full of things that would never sell.

However, with market now being universal among your characters, I see the argument being made that if you remove the time limit, going back to the old way, yet implement a "hard limit" of something like say 50 listings per person, I see several things happening:

1. Market will suddenly pop out with listings for more gear than you can throw a stick at, be it high, mid, or low end items, of all levels.
2. Due to point 1, new players will find it much easier to get into the game, as gearing up will be much less of a chore.
3. Market competition will once again become a thing, where people will post items for what they think it's worth, then somebody else will post comparable items for a bit lower, and end up with an effective method to determine supply vs demand.
4. Resellers will reenter the market, boosting the playerbase considerably, as it would once again become profitable to scour the market in an attempt to find good deals to resell at a higher rate to make profits.
5. Nobody would really mind paying 20 or 100 fg for a fee on an item, when they can leave it listed for 6 months to a year until the next reset. Primarily because, while it might not sell, that's enough time for you to adjust the price downwards so that it might.

Long story short, the current market theory suppresses market competition and artificially inflates the price of gear, as many people won't sell gear as it's simply a waste of time. If, however, you open the market back up, you'll find market competition once again becoming a major factor in the game, and the people who would benefit the most are new players looking to get into the game. :)

okay you´ve right
but ...
the right things that rly need would not change
and i dont understand why ^^
its sooooo easy to cahnge the quality on items
we dont need 200 ee items but when 5000 items drop u get on 4998 items tier 1 stats

and that is a big problem
everyone knows that but paul doesnt change anything
okay its his game and we dont have to play it
but come on
we invest tonnes of time and we love that game
but every day 10 player online 20 player online
....

and he can make this event:
every monster spawns as ep

you find tonnes of items with tier 3 stats
wonderfull
thats not a solution
nice ideas and i enjoy the events but...
you know i know
and dont say explore explore explore

With the low player base we have today, the upfront fee could be raised / remove without the MP being flooded with crap (besides, that's what the filters are for)

Personally I would like to see all upfront fee's removed and set a maximum of 20 item on MP at a time. People would still have to think twice about what they put up on the MP
