I'm currently level 10 with a +15 str charm that is tier III so I could use it since level 1.
Say I find or buy a charm that is level req 5 or 10 with +15str also, would it be the same effect or higher hidden stats due to higher level requirement or should I just try to get as much str on my charm as I can at any cost?

I actually ended up buying a dexterity charm because I had already been statting str from the beginning. I just learned that dex = crit chance. Silly me

Level requirement doesn't matter for things like this, at least on a charm if you're melee. Same thing if you were a caster and had int on your weapons.
It would make a slight difference on armor, as a higher level item has higher defenses. But generally that's going to be pretty negligible, and not worth worrying about too much.

Update:
Made it to level 30 and calling it quits for the evening. Going to try and hit master quest tomorrow so hoping for a cool experience there :D

Thanks to this kind small community of folks who decided to help me out to get started. I do really enjoy the game. Simple & fun.

Now that I'm level 30. Am I supposed to buy maps off the market or should I just go into the regular catacombs to kill stuff?

first off i'd like to say welcome to ladder slasher :)

softcore is probably your best best to start.. at least for the first few mq's.

hardcore.. well is just that.. same gameplay as sc.. BUT.. if you die.. you lose that character, prof gains, and whatever gear was on that character forever.. if you want to try out HC, a good rule of thumb is to town and shrine or regen at about 50% life.

as for maps.. some swear by only and solely using them. myself i typically run regular catacombs, and save specific maps for specific events. ie; event has +% to treasure chests, i run a treasure chest map.


If youd like to try hardcore, im sure a lot of us in the HC community would be more than willing to help get you set up with some starter gear for really cheap or free. :)

Currently level 70 and once I can do the masterquest I'll let my gf decide my fate :lol:

gl with your first mq :) its not an easy grind with lower level/tier gear. but if you get a few under you, application to a guild will be easier ;) or.. save the mq, and level a mule to mq.. do it for all of them, and then find a guild that pays per guild point.. may as well try and earn a bit of fg in the meantime, until you can find a home in a guild/clan

Well let's just say she put the wrong key in..... not saying that I would pass if I did it I always fail 50/50's also
