On the map side of things, can you be level 10 amd start a catacomb and get a high level Map at the end? Would it be worth just doing the first 2 or 3 catacombs and reroll the char for map farming?

Like others said before you need higher level maps, lvl 20 maps will get you to 45, unless there's a modifier giving you extra levels on the map.
Let's say a lvl 20 map takes you 10 levels to complete on average, you will open one at level 35 to get the best drops out of it.
After lvl 45 the experience drops and the items as well.

Maps can be good, but finding them can be a pain.

Level 5 map = monster level cap 30 ... so clearing this map at higher levels reduces drop quantity and making it redundant.

Level 5 map with +25 Monster level cap = monster level cap is 55, so starting this map at level 52 would be ideal and complete before or by level 55 and reap anything that could drop... even level 55 items from EPs.

You would need other mods of course to make it worthwhile:

+X# Evil Presence
+X% Monster Difficulty
+X% Drop Quantity or Quality

and there you go... even Emblems spawning would be good, considering you will NEVER fall down a TD when exploring a Map compared to a Catacomb.

Goodluck and have fun.

I keep my statement that whistle feature was the downfall of this game.

I wouldn't say downfall. But I most certainly think it changed the tone 100%

Full explore climbs really aren't a thing. A lot of the games surface isn't scratched.
And once it is..
The exploitation of it all was the downfall.

Map pops for example.
I never asked for anyone for a map pop. I just didn't care.. but it def was exploited

What is the best level to start a maze to find a level 35+ map? Think what he wanted to know ..you also need a rogue or monk so you don't fall in trapdoors for map finding

Would whistling to 40 on a lvl 1 cata then finishing that cata give u the chance at dropping a lvl 40 map?

Oh damn, it is repeat this and that again.

NEVER try to complete a Catacomb above level 30 or 35 JUST for the chance to find a higher level map... you are wasting your time, even if you are a Rogue, Monk or fucking Ninja UNLESS you are willing to NOT CLICK ON EMBLEMS that can make those classes fall into a TRAP DOOR regardless of their innate ability DETECTING trap doors.

You start to clear a catacomb @ level 20, you complete it by level 30 and you have the chance to have a MAP drop that is level 30, or 35 or level 40 ... now if the map dropped is level 30 ... then the monster cap is level 55 UNLESS it has the mod of +X Monster level cap.

So... a level 35 Map drop has the monster level cap of 60 UNLESS it has the mod of +X# Monster level cap and so forth... just like finding a level 40 map which is Monster level cap of level 65.

The difference is the SIZE of the MAZE to complete it, and it also affects what level you WILL complete it.

Fuck... have you not tried testing this shit out at all? I have, I posted shit about it also, I asked for help and got none, and you are all fucking asking the same dumb as questions I have been posting for a year or more.

Anyway... just think about it... a Catacomb maze is a LOT larger than a Map maze to complete.

It may be helpful if using a braincell or two.
