Honestly, not trying to be a dick, but this is exactly what's wrong with firearms in the USA. They are not toys, and you do not have an inherent right to own military style firearms.
The fact that you would move states just to keep some toys blows my mind.
The entire attitude and culture around firearms as being "cool" and something to play with, modify and show off to your friends is deeply concerning.
My best friends have not seen my firearms. In fact no one has unless I'm hunting with them, and I don't advertise the fact I own them as I don't want my house burgled.
They are tools, not toys Americans.
