I'll jump ahead and link this for your Science vs Religion. It's an article I posted 8 years ago: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=66747269&f=125

That's the thing with the religious text, we study it and discuss it with others. We go to Church and find out more about the religious text. We ask questions and we want answers. What happens then if those questions are answered?

I have posted many threads about these things. I'll even link them here:

Just the sheer amount of study and threads posted there proves that I did not take the religious text at face value. No, I went and did my research. I took notes at Church. I went to all the Bible Study groups when we did those series.

If you saw my previous post then you would see that I asked many, MANY questions. If you make a claim then you better be able to back up those claims. That is exactly what I did with The Bible. What happened is that every single one of the questions that I had was answered.

What happens then? What happens if your 20 questions are all answered? You know at that point that what you are reading is trustworthy and it is true. I have stayed here for many years.

As for the life advice, you missed the part where you are first saved by God. Look at the Exodus as a perfect example. The Israelite's were FIRST saved by God, through Moses, then they received the 10 Commandments.

What this means is that all that I do here, I am NOT doing this so that I can be saved. Jesus has already saved me. Since we are sure of the things we already know, we are compelled to tell as many of you as we possibly can.
Oh and before you mention those that "Have never heard of The Gospel" then that is all the more reason for the Missionaries to go out and tell the others. Besides, wouldn't you allow all of us to go out and tell everybody if you had those on your mind? Think about that.

Your credibility as a scholar is a lot weaker than you think it is

After reading countless replies you always reference facts from within your own dogmatic religious teaching and by definition these aren't facts but rather opinion and if you are to convince anyone with an astute mind that what you believe it right then you must learn to speak the language of the student

I have been agnostic for many years now and I am completely content in my 'soul' and impartial to getting caught up in arguments concerning the unknown and unknowable and the dull reality is the only thing really happening in topics like this is one person posturing over another when any real debate is raised and 99% of the time both parties already have their mind made up, ironically about the unknown and unknowable

@bold, what a nice opening statement. Too bad your follow up falls flat on its face.

@underline, at least I have facts to reference. I have a lot of them as well. Read the very bottom of this post and you'll see 6 DIFFERENT references: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=73889562&f=119&p=525625079#p525625079
Have you ever argued the Grand Canyon was caused by the Worldwide flood? I have. Once again I use references to backup my claims: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=75028490&f=119&p=507734451#p507734451
Have you ever argued the Genealogy of Jesus? I have. Even though Tinypic is no longer available I had pictures which shows how it all works: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=73889562&f=119&p=531333715#p531333715

You already know that I do not believe things blindly. You know that I do my research and I backup any claims with references. You know that I've done my research. You can rest assured about that. When it comes to Bible Verses, there is this thing called Bible Study. This is where a group of Christians actually go out and study the passage and discuss it among each other. We then listen to the Sermon on the Sunday.

So no, I whole heartedly disagree when you say that I 'always' reference facts that are rather opinion. I believe that the evidence presented to you is very sufficient. Look at all the different studies that have been posted by me. These studies are there to tackle every aspect of your life. You have questions? They have most certainly been answered. The issue is not that I don't speak the language of the student, the issue is that you refuse to accept this as evidence while neglecting to provide any of your own.

@italics, then why do you come here? Why do you participate? Did you not read the title of the subforum? What do you say to those who get the news of cancer and that death is now a reality? What hope do you give to them? What about those who have lost a limb? What do you say to them to give them hope? What will your saving grace by when old age kicks in and you need to deal with dementia? Is your entire purpose in life to serve yourself at the expense of others? If so then how do you deal with a Locked Gold account? Please tell me these things, I would love to know what gives you hope in the face of death and decay.

thanks for the article, but it doesnt discuss my question. "what is the complete area of coverage of the tapeats sandstone layer." ( wikipedia will not tell you)

your article does bring up another question. What is the mechanism that restarts the clock (age/date) of sedimentary layering?

i have evidence that the whats in the below vid is not taught in geology.
