I would like to start by saying I will not be advertising any cheat platforms nor do I recommend cheating, it's something that is very stressful and time consuming unless you are a dev yourself and have countless of hours of experience with a stupid high amount of $ and time, so for that I 100% recommend you do not cheat on osrs.
This is not a post to talk about why you have been banned or things like that as I no one can confirm what happens, but this should shed some light on things for those banned or seen a ban and have been confused on what it means.
After reading a ban topic I decided to make this post so people understand banning who do not bot, use third party programs.
Also this is just for OSRS, I myself do not know anything about the state of RS3 or things of that nature.
1.) Ban timing
First I would like to Cover ban times and what they mean (typically) All my times will be Central time UTC -5
Typically you are banned Monday-Friday at the hours of 1:30-2:00AM and 9:00AM-9:30AM.
Typically these are when your 2 day bans occur, this means most of the time you were reported or something broke during the bot process itself.
90% of the time if you were banned any other time, a JMod manually checked in on you or they investigated the ban themselves, this is usually unlikely, but I've seen it happen to myself and others.
2.)What happens if you are 2 day banned.
(There is a lot of people who believe differently this is just my perspective on it)
Not only the people involved in the botting themselves get flagged via HWID & IP
I do believe for a brief period of time your account is flagged and monitored more often, so that would mean your reports are looked into on a different que.
When you are 2 day banned, You do not receive a rollback, loss of GP, loss of highscores, or anything of that nature. It's merely a warning to not cheat again.
-Edit there is also no such thing as a 3 day ban, it's just based on hours of when you were banned it's 48 hours from the occurrence.
3.) What causes a 2 day ban?
I saw comments of what does what, and 99% of the time it's just a bot that broke that itself is not detected. This does not mean it's just AHK or things like that. Most clients that are not the original client or Runelite/Osbuddy do not receive two day bans, as jagex can determine what client you are on.
4.) Ban Appeals
Jagex does have a ban appeal option in their support option on the official runescape website, you are not allowed to share links, so I will not be posting where it is.
5.) Chainbans
Can you or a service member receive a chainban that is not botting?
Yes, but these would only receive a perma ban, and not a two day ban.
I once did a service for 10+ accounts back in 2015-2016, that all wanted 1-36 crafting + a few quests, but he wanted them done on the same account. At the time I was not fully researched on ips of that nature. When he got mass banned, all my accounts used on that PC /ip were chain banned even when I played legit after that. I did just a quest on a brand new account and it was banned the next day.
To fix that I had to change IP, and clear my HWID via Regedit, and the legit bans stopped happening. Although I was able to appeal the bans and they were corrected.
Chainbans only occure when you are botting on 5 or more accounts on the same IP or are banned via the same PC/IP in a quick succession, I've not seen it happen if it was under 5.
6.) Cheating on the official OSRS, Approved third party clients.
This is 100% possible to do via mirror technique, I am saying this in regards to services. It is 100% entirely possible to use not only AHK but botting as well. It looks 100% identical to runelite settings as you are the official or the cheater verison of runelite. What does this mean?
Any one can be cheating on a service and using runelite alone does not mean the service member is legit. There is no safe bot/platform out there, there is always a risk. I'm putting this statement out here so people are aware. Just because some one says it's legit and 100% hand done doesn't always mean it to be true. I'm not trying to discourage people going to any service. I've seen people cheat, and use the excuse "I use runelite only here is my runelite screenshots." This means nothing the safest way to find out is to request a live screenshot during the job itself, and show the time spent in game.
When Runelite autoscreenshots it has a date as well. pressing print screen it only screenshots runelite, specifically ask for a screenshot tool of the entire screen. This will show if the people were botting during the job as 99% of bots have a GUI. unforunately there is no GUI/UI for most AHK bots so for that, you just have to trust the person will not use them.
I will edit this post over time as I wish I had more time to put more information, I will not discuses your bans or other bans on this fourm as I do not want to cause drama or any other situations.
Also I apologize for my grammer and typing, I type like a third grader lol
