I would like to propose the ability to block threads so they never show up again, either on the thread list OR in the search results.
The barrage of 200-line threads where people list EVERYTHING they've ever gathered, updating the whole thing every time a new Flawless Amethyst drops, makes it extremely tedious to use the search engine efficiently.

Those threads will always contain almost every tag under the sun. They'll return when you're looking for ANY item type (jewel, belts, etc.), and ANY tag (goldfind, gf, eg, mf, ias, etc.).
Once I've looked at the thread once, I don't need to have it come up every single time I look for something entirely different.

I would love to be able to simply click "Block" on a thread so it never shows up again in results, as a means of forcing filtering onto the results.

That's all.

How do people feel about this?

Examples: I type "goldfind belt" (rather vague, but the point still stands).
I'll find maybe one relevant thread in the midst of 30 of these massive piles of "catch all keywords" trade lists.
It's not like adding "fcr" helps at all. They all use the keyword. If I type in "mana", I catch other massive lists with mana in them.
I type in resist? same shit

It hardly matters if i type "goldfind belt resist fcr mana", I'm always given these massive piles of disjointed trade lists.
Just try to look for "crafted" stuff. You'll find a list 500 items, with 4 Crafted amulets in them.

Have you tried using the operators here? https://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=31

I don't know how they could be used to solve this.
Do you have any idea how to phrase a search for a goldfind belt that would address this, for instance? That would solve the issue.

Well, a PITA way is you can omit a result by its topic title name using Operator NOT and Grouping.. but then you'd have to keep track of them and the query will become quite large. Probably not a good way

I find it near impossible to search for items because of the long posts that contain every word possible. They flood the pages to the point you waste so much time by the time you find what you wanted it's sold. I think your idea or a limit on how many characters in a post can be used should be implemented.

I disagree here wolf, this will just encourage user's to make multiple threads to spread out their items even more, which, will lead to even more flooding.

Block option it is then. How many everything 5 fg post should I have to filter through you know what I mean. I look for specific circlets and get a bunch of junk only to find a thread for one days later by chance. I am spending less and less time trading.

If you want a temp solution, you can omit the topic title names in your query. However, you'll have to manage a list and append to it each new title you don't want to be shown.. but it's technically a solution until/if the admins want to make something

awesome idea. would be nice to single out the item you are looking for.. and not type.... needle... and still have to find it in the haystack lol.
plus while we are at it.. make a block actually block users.. if you block them it should block them from your threads..
that would resolve so much flame attacks and trolling/ SPAM
but im sure this will make other issues arise.
