Hey, are you referring to my post earlier? If so, what do you mean by "combine their post"? Something different than enabling longer editing periods?

Thinking about this I was wondering whether there may be scenarios where, let's say in a trade topic, there's actually substantial new information that rather belongs into a regular post than into an edit of the first post.
Example: I'm selling an item in post 1, set a bin, someone bins it in post 30, to which I reply in post 31. But then he never shows up, or says in a PM that he's no longer interested in trading.
Now I could just edit my first post, saying it's still available, which might cause some confusion (and would perhaps require people to compare the time of my editing to the time of posts 30 or 31).
Of course I could just wait and put the info into a regular bump, which means 4 hours will pass where people must think the item is no longer available.
Making an early clarification in another post is a violation of the early bump rule, but is the rule strictly enforced in that scenario?
Or what if I'm refusing someone's offer at first, but 1 hour later decide it's actually good and I want to trade? For transparency reasons I may not be willing to move the negotiations to my PMs but keep them visible for everyone.
I'm torn between voting yes or no on this. Might attach a vote later though!
I was suggesting for something like this, in the event the OP posts a reply under the 4 hour bump.
