It doesn’t work like this anymore. Have you used a med recently? They don’t join games or hold items anymore

It’s an awful system honestly, but it makes for less work (basically none) for meds.

I don’t even see the point of a med tag anymore. The fg or item doesn’t even pass through their hands. Might as well just say my trade is being mediated by some randomly generated name since it makes no difference and the meds don’t do anything

I've never used the new mediator system. Assuming from the issues in GH I've read, is this how it works?

Let's say George is buying an eternal orb from Nick for 20kFG.

George sends the 20k to the mediator (forum bank), and then joins a game and waits for Nick to give him the eternal orb.

After, what if George says he never got the item, but Nick said he gave him the item? (when in reality, Nick didn't give him the item)


Then what happens?

This is exactly why I don’t use the new ‘mediation system’, especially for large trades.

To say it’s 100% safe is…..not true.

They ask you to take screenshots but they don’t prove anything. It’s not hard to maliciously use the shared stash tab.

I don’t want my sent fg in limbo forever if they claim they gave the item and didn’t, and I don’t want to not receive payment if they claim I never gave an item when I did give it

the easiest way to reduce scams would be to always give fg first. and give moderators the ability to just transfer the fg back if the other guy bails/scams

another way would be some kind of fg-transfer-confirmation system. like the gold gets locked for x amount of time until the item receiver confirms the transfer. if a scam happens there should be a way to revert the transfer (maybe with a mod). otherwise when the time runs out or the transfer gets confirmed the gold gets unlocked
