Login, add subscription, logout. Log back in years later with 487,300 fg

E/ Voted nay, although I see your points. Just not something I’d be interested in

EE/ maybe you could just buy a years worth of verified status at a time or something

Sounds like a bunch of buffoonery that has to be dealt with. Also along with al the qq posts / emails about "omg why was I charged all this money, I was gone from jsp for xxx months!!"

If you have to agree to terms of the subscription that says, "by subscribing you agree to be charged xxx amount per month" blah blah, and someone decides to sign up...who cares if they qq post or email? No one forces people to sign up. On top of that, if you have to verify your identity in order to sub, then there's truly no grounds to complain or successfully dispute the charges.

Being able to buy a years worth of verification at once would be welcome compromise. Although it's arguably the same as what I'm asking only 1 lump sum paymeny vs monthly automatic payments.

Voted yes, I would use this myself - I still think the annual proof of ID should be required however.
Currently just need to make a purchase to get my Verified status back, after returning from a hiatus.

e/ this suggestion was just the push I needed :D
Requesting the verification back as we speak.

e2/ took less than an hour to complete, the newer verification system they implemented is seamless and efficient - I imagine it would be simple for them to keep that annual proof of ID and offer a subscription FG purchase

Why would you keep the annual proof of ID for verification? It's not like identities change.

I don't even understand why it's implemented now tbh, it makes zero sense.

It's likely to separate bots accounts and multi's from becoming "verified". Verification status is supposed to tell other users that the person is genuine.
If no photo ID was required, then being "verified" would be meaningless.

No I understand the first time to get verified, I don't understand the annual aspect of it. Why does it need done every 12 months?

It helps prevent fraudulent purchases being made. (aka the person on the card doesnt match photo ID which would raise suspicion) Currently it's per verification but i doubt it would ever be annually. I honestly like the idea it would just need some changes to honestly work imho.

According to this, it's to make sure the person requesting verification is actually the person who has donated to the site. Requiring to re-submit annually is likely to be sure the account hasn't changed hands. And if it has, that new person would need to apply for verification on their own merits rather than on the previous persons "verification".
