Ultimately the obsession with trying to hide the DClone walk from people who didn't donate was the downfall and cause of this whole thing. Following an updated mechanic in D2R that makes the DCone available to everyone on that realm - slightly counter-intuitive. It's almost 1 step forward 2 steps back.
As mentioned trying to "hide" the DClone walk by delaying the stream, saying "ops almost logged into the wrong realm - hehe", attempting to use 'sleight of hand' swapping to EU then spamming into the stream its "ITS EU, ITS EU, ITS EU" by which would be too late to swap realm as everyone had already loaded up in Asia as a result of the stream delay. Meant people not informed prior would miss the walk.
This also relates to the speed at which he sold the SoJs, unlike someone like MrLlamasc who made an event from spawning DClone, taking his time to sell them and enjoying the whole community lead event. Spam selling the SoJ's meant he could spawn Diablo BEFORE people had realised, combined with the stream delay and intentional misinformation.
My opinion would be:
1. If streaming the event on a community lead platform (Twitch), involve the community...
2. Otherwise, collect the SoJs in private (obviously announcing in public you are collecting them for a private DClone event), create a private group of the people that donated and organise to spawn DClone without involving the community. Meaning the only people who could obtain Anni's without donating and SoJ would be the unsuspected players at the time on whatever realm.
3. Floor control is not a valid excuse

For context I wasn't involved in the DClone event. Assumptions made post-event after watching the stream highlights and reading around the issue on JSP and Discord.
Best response in this thread, bravo.
