Hello,

Someone posted in december that the ed/min/max damage jewel bug (the one where enhanced damage with either min or max damage mods on a jewel socketed in a helm/body armor piece will not work correctly), does not apply to ranged attacks, meaning that for ranged attacks, you'll benefit from both enhance damage and min/max damage jewels mods. Apparently in that thread they said even though the character stat sheet doesn't display the changes, the added damage is there and hidden.

Has this been verified?

Thanks!

Not for d2r though.. idk if that's been changed there...

https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=51895565&f=87

This applies to any non-weapon item:

Case 1: Item has innate %ED. You socket with a +Max or +Min Jewel. No bug.

Case 2: You socket an item with a %ED Jewel. Then you socket with +Max or +Min Jewel. No bug.

Case 3: Item has innate +Max. You socket with a +%ED Jewel. The %ED only applies to minimum, not maximum.

Case 4: Item has innate +Min. You socket with a +%ED Jewel. The %ED only applies to maximum, not minimum.

Case 5: You socket item with a +Max Jewel, then you socket with a +%ED Jewel. The %ED only applies to minimum, not maximum.

Case 6: You socket item with a +Min Jewel, then you socket with a +%ED Jewel. The %ED only applies to maximum, not minimum.

Case 7: You socket an item with a %ED/Max Jewel. The %ED only applies to minimum, not maximum.

Case 8: You socket an item with a %ED/Min Jewel. The %ED only applies to maximum, not minimum.

Case 9: You socket an item with a %ED/Min/Max Jewel. The %ED applies to neither."

sounds like a load of bs
melee and ranged attacks would be the same
and if you have an item with bugged jewels then the correct damage is displayed there is no invisible damage
your damage would just be more if it wasn't bugged

I think the people in that topic were saying that for ranged attacks have been tested to have no bug from bugged jewels

But yeah I'm skeptical as well. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Care to describe how you tested the bug?

Thanks!

well i tested it on my Guided Arrow pvp zon with a bugged circlet that i got
i think the stats were something like: +2 Zon 30% Frw +7 Min Damage 20@ res 2 socket
with 2x 15 ias 40 ed jewels
with character screen open looking at both the min & max damage and equipping and unequipping the helm
the max damage would go up and min would stay exactly the same meaning the 80% ed from the jewels was not effecting the min damage
so i changed the jewels to 15 ias 15@ res to avoid the bug but yeah

I recently socketed a +min damage circlet with an ED jewel. Is there any way I can test this without removing the jewel?

just do the same thing i did, look at your damage and remove the helm then reequip it
notice the min damage will only go up by what ever min damage your helm has and wont get the ED bonus

Circlet stats - +5 min and +40% ed

Without circlet WW min damage: 570
With circlet WW min damage: 604
Percent increase in min damage: 5.96%

Without circlet WW max damage: 1075
With circlet WW max damage: 1131
Percent increase in max damage: 5.21%

The min damage increase is slightly more than the max damage increase. Not sure if I'm not understanding something here..
