I like HC at reset. Because HC is pvm at its best, no doubt about that.
And for me, since 2008, ladder was always about pvm.
However, the trading and market is stale at hc. If you rly wanna profit (which i never bother with at reset anyway), its false hope saying that hc is better. Especially if ban wave accompanied reset. Then sc has much longer longevity market wise, and pvp gear goes for alot (life sks, rares, crafts). The few % higher price of a hoto, shako and stormshield during first week or two doesnt make up for that, when good gear at a point on sc cost more.
It used to be the other way around, but hc too inactive for the last 5 resets or so.

But if ur in it for some fun pvm, hc > sc

I tend to roll (when i play, which is rare due to time and motivation issues) whatever my friends wanna roll. I play alot of SP P8 (atm doing grail): always HC.

Been playing HC exclusively last 3 years or so. Much more fun. The challenge is not to just grind as much as possible, but actually surviving. Adds a much more fun perspective to the game.

Start out with a Bowzon, that adds to the challenge ^^
