Times sure are changing.

I logged into playing real D2, or what is now "legacy D2" and man USWest is basically dead, I couildn't find a single soul to talk to

I like to play hardcore classic ladder sometimes, nobody was in the old chats, Hccl, olo, nobody in the necro crypt either.

I know most people are on East now apparently, but West is my home and I will not change.

I also see now there is no more Classic D2 forum...its all been merged into this section, and people seem to be confused and just post D2R stuff here anyway.

The best days of my life were the 1.09 days.... wow what a time to be playing Diablo and be on the internet, nothing can ever recapture the happiness of that time period, I like to login to D2 in the mornings and just walk around Act 1 like I was a kid again.... it feels nice. I miss having so many people to talk to on there.

What is everyone doing now... are legacy players still playing? Any clans? Where are you all meeting up and talking? What becomes of the broken hearted...

Nostalgia is such a hard feeling man. I feel that nostalgia when I think back to legacy D2 as well, I also feel it very strongly when I start D1. The music, the sounds of everything.

You know when you hear a song and connect it to a game just because you played that game all the time while that particular song was popular on MTV or so?

Example: When I hear Whitney Houston's "My Love is Your Love" or "If you had my Love" from J.Lo I think of Heroes of Might & Magic 3, just because I played the crap out of that game at the time those songs ran up and down on tv.

Hereos of might and magic 2 was best of that serie <3
Baldur's gate 1 and 2 best single player game.
Warzone 1 best battle royal
Black ops 1 and 2 epic fps, but csgo is epicer. And Alien Colonial marines was fun too^^
Might and Magic 6 and 7 was epic as well. Immagine beeing full geared at first island just by killing that dragon instead of fleeing from it, and then save and load until double body loot until your characters are filled with 100% engame gear xD

I fear that gaming as we know it is dying out. It's all about coinz now. Sell some shit, earn some micro transactiona and start hyping up the next game after 3 months.

You are right, but there is light. Look at Soulsgames for example. An honest genre, never asking for money after you bought the game, always delivering quality, trusting in you as intelligent being who can handle things by yourself. Just pure and honest gaming, develiped in modern times. Light in between the dark Void of Lootboxes, MTX, battle passes and subscriptions.

As long as there is great companies and great games there is still hope.

P.S.: Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 are important parts of my teen years. Some games will always have a special place in my heart for as long as I live.

Well.

1. New games require graphics better than People have. So it will never feel fluant, precise and the same every time.

2. New games like warzone 2 and even warzone 1 base their system to create less skill gaps. In warzone1 it was hidden better. U would miss a couple of hitmarkers here and there, ur sniper/ballistic knife and crossbow headshots would stop to 1 tap. Ur stuns would fail to do shit, ur bullets and throwing knife would curve to miss enemy lethal areas. We are here talking even point blank. Sometimes ur dmg is at 50%. It could last for 1 Day to an entire week. So I recorded some of that shit sometimes. Sometimes gun jams as well. Aim assist could also be absent for a weak. You would not get teammates for 8 games in a row. They also started to nerf headshot dmg on guns in general and increased limb damage so that worse aimers would have less benefits.

3.But on warzone to its a completely New level. Every stat possible is beeing modified, the game and guns never act the same, muscle memory wont work, cause its all modified from the first game you play. You May be up 45-3 in multiplayer the first half, then the game will spawn you in certain death until the game ends. Everytime you spawn u can do nothing but insta die.
Recoil
Flinch
Bullet velocity
Operator speed
Gun refuse to fire
Throwing knife curving
Bullets deleted from server 1mm prior to impact
Missing hitmarkers in general
Throwing knives change direction and goes to the sky
Guns deal even less than 50% dmg
Aim assist gone
Stick drift when aiming at players, but cant produce the same when aiming on walls.
Messing with stuns and riot shields.
Turning ur operator 45 degrea off the enemy
Forcing ur aim off the enemy, and ur not even able to force it back.
On top of that the game is made to have as little outplay potentioal as possible, no 1 tap wepons, slow movement, slow reload, slow climbing/getting out of water/release parachute and heavy pentalties on jumping and such.

D2r is the same:
Remove delays
Make pvm easier
Remove active stun, where both players before had to active fight to stun and avoid stuns.
Remove desync
Remove speed
Slow it down
Dumb stuff down step by step

And ofc always Remove the new things People like:
D2r: 200eias caps
Warzone: remove backpacks with the 3rd wepon option and stacking of utility, and remove the autofill from stashed inventory to use slots. Cause we can't have any1 benefit from beeing tactical either. You gonna shot at eachother and server gonna decide WHOs going to die.

I started playing Diablo 3 again, I ran through it back in the day and hated it, trying it again today its really not as bad as I thought. It is very easy I will admit with constantly getting good item drops, but the fighting is fun, and killing 100+ monsters is satisfying. I am playing Hardcore mode as a barb and nothing can really kill me, I am playing on Expert difficulty and I can pretty much stand there hitting everything without dying. Multiplayer is pretty fun too on couch co-op, my family and I are playing on the PS4 and with 3 players things get pretty insane on the screen.

When the ladder resets for D2 Legacy, I will be back on USWest if anyone wants to join, we can probably take it over and run the ladder if we really wanted to which I think would be fun.

I actually have Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 on PS4 and haven't played them yet, I know it is an investment and just haven't really had time to enjoy it. One day I hope to play them both, and Neverwinter Nights which always sounded fun.

I cant even imagine how Baldurs Gate could ever be played on console. It can only be a miserable experience.
Too many spells need to be targeted onto specific areas (not only enemies directly), the party requires constant commands, and so on. It must be so incredibly uncomfortable to play BG with controller that I would almost suggest you to never start those games. I cant see a world in which such a port would ever do the games justice.

Haha I have heard that before, they did a remaster of 1 and 2 on the Ps4, it was 9.99 so I figured I'd try it.

After beating Diablo 3 on Ps4... there is really no end game, there is no PvP online either I can't even find anyone to play with.

Until D2 legacy resets... I am going to try to beat Diablo 1, just got it on GoG with Hellfire Expansion.

Would you rather pay a monthly fee to play* D2 (Legacy) or Play the later versions for free?

*this would include regular updates, server issues, sync & otter bugs solved.
