Oops, I double posted about magic the gathering battleground. I thought I picked it up on my second trip to Illinois but I guess it was the first. How embarrassing 😅

I will adjust my sales spread to account for that:

Got some free games from my future brother-in-law

He moved out of his college house recently.
His roommate left a couple games.
Instead of tossing them, he gave them to me!

Here is what I got:

Skyrim (Greatest Hits) -PS3
Assassin's Creed III (Greatest Hits) - PS3

Uncharted 2 (Cardboard Sleeve) - PS3
Uncharted (Cardboard Sleeve) - PS3
Infamous Collection (Cardboard Sleeve) - PS3

All good games..
But all very common games.
And on a platform I don't really play lol

Hey, I'm not complaining!
Free is free!!
I don't know what I'm gonna do with them.
Probably just trade them in to my LGS.
They won't give me much though lol

I got a couple other things too:

New Super Mario Bros Wii - Wii
New Super Mario Bros Wii (Disc Only) - Wii

This is more my jam!

I don't have this game!
But I'm curious about it.
Haven't played a 2D Mario since World lol
Tbh, I haven't picked it up because of the awful red case.
I know, I'm the worst lol
But I hate when games break the consistency of their platform.

It will be fun to play, I'm sure.
But imo, free is the right price.
I don't think it is the deepest experience...
I can't believe someone paid ~$50 for that disc only copy.
GameStop at it again!

Couple other new pickups:

A new second hand bookstore opened up in town.
I collect/flip books pretty regularly.
I finally got around to checking it out!

It didn't really have the book inventory I was looking for..
But I was happy to see a tiny game section.
I mean, like 8-10 games.
But decent ones at decent prices.

Decided to pick one of them up:

Star Wars Rogue Leader Rogue Squadron II - GameCube

A nice find for $15!
Not exactly a steal.
But about $5-$10 lower than the going rate.
If it wasn't CIB, I might have left it..
..but it felt like the right time to get it!

Happy to finally get this game!
It was a launch title, and really a system seller.
The graphics were amazing for the time.
Truly, they hold up even today quite well!

I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan..
And I don't play a lot of airiel combat games..
But this is a signature GameCube game.
One that felt like a missing piece of my library.
Plus, it's nice to get something a little different!

Got another pickup from Goodwill:

Amped - Original Xbox

Got it for $3
A common and cheap game..
But a monumental pickup!

This is the first game I have found at goodwill in months.
Maybe even a year!
It's not even really a game I wanted.
Although I hear it is a pretty decent snowboarding game.
But I felt like I couldn't leave it there!

And now that I have an Xbox, at least I can play it!
I'll at least check it out lol
Maybe build a shrine for the final goodwill game

Couple small pickups from the flea market:

God of War Origins Collections - PS3
Sega Classics Collection - PS2

Some decent finds.

God of War Origins is a nice compilation.
There seems to be a few of these on PS3.

I have never played a God of War game..
But I know it has some resale value.
They seem like cool games tbh!

Unfortunately, it has a bit of water damage on the cover.
Not the worst, but I can't flip for full value.
Still a nice pickup!

Sega Classics Collection is kind of a random pickup.
It's not really worth much..
And I don't collect PS2 games..
But it has a really weird history.

Sega re-vamped a lot of early games during this era.
Kind of 'modernized' them with polygonal graphics.
Some had some game play mods, other left alone.
They did this to a lot of their classic titles..
Even things like the original Phantasy Star!
However, most did not get a NA release..

This classics collection is the only exception.
Except maybe the Sega Ages compilation for the Saturn?
Not sure on that one.
But there are still some cool classics on here.
I would love to try out Hang On and Space Harrier..

Oh well, I can't play it lol
Will probably just trade it in to my local game store.
It was just a cool game that I had heard about.
Felt like I couldn't just leave it there!

Shrek 2 (Greatest Hits) - GameCube
MVP Baseball 2005 - GameCube

GameCube games at the flea market!
Always nice to see!

Too bad I already have both these games T_T.
Picked them up anyway.
They were cheap, and I really just wanted the cases lol

It is a pain to get OEM GameCube cases.
I was down to my last spare, so I figured I'd pick these up!

Got these 4 games for $10
Nothing crazy, but a fun hall!

Another Goodwill Pickup!
Just after I said Amped would be my last

Zoo Tycoon The Complete Collection (Brand New) - PC

My local Goodwill has pretty much stopped stocking games.
But I do still see some PC stuff ocassionally.

I am much less knowledgeable about PC games..
Other than some obvious stuff.
Like old big box of a popular game? Probably worth looking into..
This one caught my eye because it was still sealed.

Don't know much about Zoo tycoon.
The only sim tycoon game I've played is Rollercoaster Tycoon.
If it is anything like that, I'm sure it is quite fun.
In new condition though, it holds a little value!

Picked it up for $3 :)

Went to a new flea market over Memorial Day weekend.
Picked up a couple new games:

Super Paper Mario - Wii
Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 - Xbox 360

Happy to get a hold of Super Paper Mario.
Especially a complete and clean copy.
I'm still on the lookout for quality Wii titles.
I've noticed prices on the system have started to creep up..

This game seems to be pretty polarizing.
Thousand Year Door was generally considered a masterpiece.
From my understanding, the Wii game introduced more platforming.
I don't think that sounds like a bad thing though.

For touchstone series, people generally want more of the same.
However, I think changing the formula gives a series longevity.
I mean, look at the Zelda series.
People hated WindWaker when it came out..
But with time, people look back on it as a gem.

I have never played Super Paper Mario.
But I think people will circle back to it and appreciate it one day.
Besides, I thought Thousand Year Door was just 'good'.
Definitely not as 'great' as its reputation.
I wanted a little more depth to the RPG systems.
I think changing the formula up could improve the experience!

That was a long tangent lol
I'm excited to play it! :)

I don't know much about the Castlevania game.
It just caught my eye.
Anything Castlevania seems to hold some value.
It's only a ~$15 game though.

I looked up some gameplay footage of it.
Seems more like a Devil May Cry game than 'Castlevania'.
It has bad review too.
But there are definitely strong defenders of this game.

Frankly, I think it looks kind of fun!
I just recently beat Castlevania Curse of Darkness.
I liked it, but I often felt like the combat was a little slow.
The battle system in this release looks much more fun, tbh.

I just picked it up to flip though.
It was only a couple bucks :)

Freestyle Street Soccer - GameCube
Open Season - GameCube

A couple of new GameCube titles!
It was $15 for the pair.
Perhaps a little more than I wanted to spend.
But GameCube is just getting harder and harder to find.
It felt like an okay price all things considered.

I can't say I have much interest in Open Season.
Not that all children's licensed games are bad..
But I have a ton of them at this point lol
I'll maybe play one a year (if that).

I had a little more hope for Freestyle Street Soccer.
However, it was published by Akklaim lol.
I really enjoy arcade sport games.
Soccer is certainly no exception.

I messed around with it for a while.
Ya know, it's a fine game.
There are just better options on the platform.
I would never put this in over Mario Soccer lol
But considering it can be bought for cheap, not awful!

Been a while since my last update!
It's a busy time of year for me.
Haven't had much time to thrift!

I did pick up a couple new things though:

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis - GameCube
Pacman World 2 - GameCube

RE3 was definitely an impulse buy lol
I really enjoy the RE games.
But Christ, they are not cheap on the GameCube!

I spotted this at my local game store.
They were asking $65 for it.
An incredibly reasonable price.
Normally, it is a ~$100 game!

I am so cheap, I hate spending that kind of money on a game.
But a couple years ago, they had RE2 for a reasonable price.
I passed on it; have never seen it at that same price since <_<

Well, I learned my lesson.
That makes it sound like it was a good use of money though lol
Whatever, I decided to splurge a bit!

At the end of the day, it was a good deal.
I'm happy to have it; happy to get to play it.
I can live with this purchase :)

Pacman World 2 was also a bit of weird buy.
I already have the game...
But not the black label stand alone version!

I enjoy the game, though I've never finished it.
Pacman world games are a nice relaxing time.
I'm not always the biggest collect-a-thon fan.
But I hope this motivates me to see through the whole thing :)

Got these both for $75
