Relying on Greenwood for a whole season is silly hes 19. When Rooney and Cristiano were teenagers they were not expected to carry the frontline. Greenwood is a striker playing RF too not a natural winger

They need depth sorely. The drop-off after the starting XI (which i think is good, still a bit behind Pool and Citeh but those two have much better depth) and a couple squad players is dreadful

I do not think Sancho is happening

an ideal window if these idiots would learn how to bring players in: right-sided winger, two midfielders, cb, maybe one cdm

they do not need superstar signings. although if Sancho could be done i’d be for it 100%
In order of priority I reckon it's RW>CB>CDM>LB

Greenwood is good but he's naturally inclined to cut in rather than stretch out the play and whip in crosses and he's still getting to get plenty of game time as he can play anywhere across front three.

Lindelof is decent to good on the ball but he gets out muscled very easy and and he's poor in the air plus has very frequent lapses of concentration, Matic is getting on slowly and both Fred and McTominay are better as box to box rather than defensively inclined midfielders and Shaw is just so injury prone you can't rely on him to play week in week out.

yeah Shaw bums me out cuz he really came into it this year with Rashford on the left side. i think him getting injured (again) during the stretch run ruined the overall fluidity because Williams isn't as polished (which makes sense he's 19 and naturally a right-sided defender)
Smalling can still play well and the season in Rome gives kind of a reset to his (unfair) reputation of being a chuckle brother with Jones (who needs to go). in fact he's probably the best pure defender and this play it out from the back is rather silly a lot of the time. United don't have the overall personnel for it because of the increase in teams playing the press, plus it's not FIFA UT mode lol.

Pogba testing positive for coronavirus, AWB isolating, maguire getting a suspended jail sentence, still no signings - Mark Goldbridge

The man is right, the fuck has been going on over there?

It's Woodward dithering over paying the amount the selling club is demanding, let's face it Dortmund don't need to sell so there's little room for negotiations, if Sancho was pushing for a move it'd probably knock off only a few mill off from his loyalty fee.

I suppose at 20 years old and playing for a decent team in the champions league you're not going to be fighting to join a team that isn't quite there yet.

usual crap stuff since SAF retired. actually the usual crap stuff since CR7 left and Glazers put the clamp down. It took inspired performances from a prime Rooney (who rightfully questioned the ability of the club to recruit young top talent at the time) to carry and drag United down the stretch in 2011 to a Prem title/UCL final, and then a magnificent season from RVP to win the 2013 title. All this of course under the genius leadership of Sir Whiskey Sniffer my friend!

since then its a clusterfuck of aimless spending with a few good moves in between. at least there’s been some academy talent but it hasn’t offset the failed transfers yet

Van de Beek to United. €40m + add ons. So media will report tomorrow ‘the total cost is €400m, and Woodward also is paying for Citeh to sign Messi’

This doesn't exactly leave me thrilled, it's all well and good signing back up players but not when there's gaping holes in the first team.

Not a backup player imo, he's quality. Would have loved him at Arsenal

He's not going to displace Pogba or Fernandes and he's not really a defensive midfielder by trade.

Perhaps Solskjaer is looking to copy Liverpool's midfield of playing 3 number 8s across the line.
