that said, in which world is schlotterbeck not f-tier ever since he joined dortmund? when he was at freiburg, he was solid in defence, with almost hummels like passes. i genuinely thought dortmund made a very good signing, and i was absolutely in favour of him making it to the national team. but currently he's just shit, and everyone can see it. he's still quite young. rüdiger and boateng weren't the bosses they eventually became at that age either, so there's still time. his "defence" on japan's 2nd goal though was literally amateur-like.
