Cristiano has sadly lost it.
He made the mistake of his life leavin Madrid. At that point he had everyting set to keep achieving success and fuel his personal ego (as he had always done, in a healthy mutual benefitial for both him and the club). He had the same number of those silly Ballon d'Ors he values so much as Messi. He had 5 CLs, more than any other football player at the time, and he had Benzema and the greatests midfield trio of the decade working exclusively for him.
And yet, he thought he was greater than the club and left with a tantrum, chosing the first club that became available, believing that his mere presence would elevate it to glory. He hasnt been able to handle it, and it's a damn shame.
Yes, Cristiano was always an egomaniacal diva, but he was always an example of professionalism. Now he has become mad and delusional. Like Gloria Swanson's character in Sunset Boulevard, Cristiano believes he is eternal, and that if he is not being unconditionally loved and praised, then either everyone else is wrong or there's some massive conspiracy against him. He truly believes that people are going to laud this disgraceful behaviour, because it should be obvious to everyone that he's right and that it's completely justified to stand up to this ignominious manager.
I don't think any top club will be interested in him at this point. He is becoming more and more unstable as his inevitable physical decline makes his perception of reality spiral further away from sanity. He will only create toxicity sooner or later. Just thank God he doesn't have Homelander's super powers.
I believe the only realistic way out for him is Sporting, but they are far from Europe's elite.
He had been spoiled for a decade having that. Rooney and Benzema completely sacrificed their strengths to feed CR7, plus as you said having top class midfielders behind him. Imagine you play 3 seasons with Scholes - Giggs - Carrick (plus peak Hargreaves) then for 7 or so years you have Modric - Casemiro - Kroos (plus having Di Maria/Xabi Alonso/Ozil too)
Any wonder as soon as he left Rooney and then Benzema both had no issue slotting in as the main man. Benzema has a better supporting cast and takes much better care of himself hence a ballon d’or (which CR7 has still not even texted congratulations for!!!!) and more trophies. Rooney was one unlucky fluke ankle injury away from likely single-handedly leading United to another league+UCL double in 09/10 (a season after losing CR7 + Tevez and where own goal was basically the 2nd leading scorer for United lmao)
CR7’s completely lost the plot. Gary Neville finally wasn’t defending him at every turn and Rooney said father time rests for no one even CR7 and that he shouldnt storm off the pitch like he did vs Spurs and CR7 takes this as some sort of personal vendetta lmao
