hummels has discovered his inner striker, leading the line on the counter
he is doing that more often recently ^_^

the fuck did you see in rüdigers performance? he was dreadful and hopeless out of position

game was still alright

#stilllöwout

löw out all day ofc, but that doesn't mean i can't give credit where it's due. this was a very solid performance today and if anyone deserved to win this match it was clearly us.

in regards to hummels i was primarily refering to his defensive leadership, his challenges, interceptions, and alertness - that's where he bossed it today. everything else is just an extra...

i don't know why you hate rüdiger so much, but today he had a very solid game imo. in case you forgot who he was playing against: just one of the brightest attacking talents in world football with lightning pace and almost flawless technique - so how many dangerous situations did mbappé have today? i remember a single one. i liked that he was extremely attentive and industrious defensively, and i appreciate his physicality and his attitude - even though he's obviously crossing the line sometimes, he does not get pushed around by some wingers trying to humiliate defensive lines with intricate backheel and stepover fuckery. he rises to the challenge, lets them feel his presence, and is not intimidated like plattenhardt for example was when he got his chance during the world cup. his performance today reminded me of a faster and stronger version of höwedes - nothing special offensively, but diligent about his job and his tactical role, without any regard for big names or nations.

i dont hate rüdiger, he is a solid oldschool center back for me

but he still likes to mess around at times and looks so freaking clunky and the passing is rather mediocre
i also appreciate physicality, but what i could see was more a result of bad timing
but fair enough, he did shut down mbappe as much as possible

we still need a proper full back there and as it happens we have a left back who had the second most assists last season.....plays for the wrong club unfortunately

way too much hype for the game, this was basically straight out of mou's bus parking playbook from both teams. ok fair play to löw, france won the world cup "bus parking" and counter the opponents to deaths with the pure quality of their attack (mbappe & co). problem with that style is that you need speed and he is playing müller on the wing *omegalul, while the likes of sane/brandt sitting on the bench. The only dangerous situations from open play were honestly Werner taken Pavard to school with his speed.

i think müller played a decent game. obviously he's not a winger that shines in fast counter-attacks, but he worked a lot, helped out defensively, and had a couple of good situations offensively, the best one obviously his attempt to put the ball in the top right corner, which areola saved brilliantly.
also, where did you see us park the bus? i mean sure, it was obvious that the main task for the match was not to concede, but it's not like we played with two deep defensive lines and hoped that a clearance miraculously landed on our strikers head to score. in fact, we had most of the possession and tried to create while at the same time not exposing our backline unreasonably.
you know that i hate löw with a passion. i have no clue why he ignores sané, i don't know why he keeps experimenting with centre backs out of position, but i really thought that was a proper game yesterday, you could clearly see that our players were motivated to make up for their atrocious performances during the world cup.
