trading Gronk sounds like a great idea, it's getting tiring always relying on him and then seeing another injury. plus he always acts like he's 1 concussion away from retirement.

if this whole 'brady threatens to retire prevents BB from doing his job' is real, then we should see BB coaching another team soon. i wouldn't blame him one bit

wut

yeah trading our 2nd best player sounds like a great idea ...

:bonk: :wallbash: :bonk:

I'd rather win now with Brady than later with another QB (both - now and later - probably isn't realistic).

Tom E. Curran put that rumor to rest... he's like the #1 patriots insider.

I wouldn't be surprised if the patriots don't win another one in my lifetime.

I wouldn't either, it's the NFL.

I think we have a darn good chance though 😎

I wasn't trying to be an ass. It's just TB is at the end and so is BB. And once they both go I don't see the organization keeping it together anywhere near what they used to

Ofc not. The odds of us getting another coach like BB, or one of his proteges being even close to what he is, is just fuck all lol. Thing with Brady was that it took him years of playing in competitive high-stress games as the underdog to develop into what he is. We had a top tier D that allowed us to have a game manager in the pocket just not making us lose. We no longer have the luxury of a defense like that, we have no real prospects being trained behind Brady and when we do get a new guy in, he's going to get slaughtered trying to learn s complicated system with shit tier receivers and no defense to bail him out.

We could get lucky and maybe the BB system being implemented will keep us from going into full fail mode, but we won't be competitive after this era until there's a total rebuild that works, and as we've seen time and time again, rebuilds fall flat on their faces more often than not and set teams back 5+ years, which is likely what will happen vs us having another miracle run.

It was a good two decades and we still got this year left. We are the luckiest fans in the NFL and it's not even fucking close. I'm just glad I got to enjoy the ride and now I'll get to be like all the delusional bad team fans who have to speculate about every high draft pick being a GOAT before he's even played a snap in the NFL :P

Never know though, they could surprise us all and transition flawlessly, but I'd say there's a 1:1,000,000 chance or worse of that.

You guys threw out your chance at a flawless transition when you traded Jimmy G
I know most Pats fans preferred that over letting Brady go somewhere else, but I don't think you guys will be very happy about the decision 5 years from now

I and at least one of the other NE guy here said we would of rather gotten rid of Brady lol. Fuck that noise man. BB wanted Jimmy and while I love Brady and think he's one of the best players ever, but you always trust the hoodie.
