Hundley... Why?

Hundley is a solid backup. Did not cost them much.

Also if you're qb is to go down it is nice to not have to completely change your system. They might be able to use Hundley similar to the way they use Wilson.

Hundley can start a game and you know what you're getting really, a 6th rounder isn't guaranteed to make a roster so why not grab a backup QB with it.

Is it a statement that Austin Davis & Alex McGough are not doing that well?

I liked Magoo this preseason, but having Hundley as your backup allows for Magoo to be on the practice squad and start the learning process.

I would not want either of them as my backup in a division with very strong defense. Wilson is tough but if he goes down you want Hundley over Davis and Mcgough. Remember Hundley after last season now has actual starting experience.
