Seems like FF7 could be well done, seems like the normal enemies are kind of just a button smash, but the boss fight was a bit challenging which was nice to see. After all of the garbage Square Enix has put out since FFX (Although I kind of liked FF12 even if most didn't) but this might be a nice remake. Time will tell though

If FFXII had the story of FFX, then you'd have a perfect game.

The gameplay of 12 was superb. I loved the combat system, the random highly-leveled monsters and areas that you shouldn't mess with at lower lvls, the vast number of things to do in the sandbox. The settings and lore of the world were cool. However, the story was very subpar. There were no main characters, and the big villain didn't even have any personal connection to them. The final battle reminds me of that scene from Endgame where Thanos says "I don't even know who you are" to that one character lol. Shitty story if the BBEG doesn't even know the protagonists imo. Plus I just generally disliked Vaan and Ashe.

FFX has one of the best stories ever, but the gameplay is so easy you can beat it without even using the sphere grid.

I'm actually playing FFX right now lol. I'm fucking up everyone's roles, switching Lulu and Wakka's paths on the Sphere Grid, making Auron the white mage, making Tidus the thief, making Yuna go the Tidus route, and making Rikku go the Auron route. It's actually somewhat challenging, but I'm not far in. I'm just before the Crusaders' battle with Sin.

Wtf, you know all the random ass 3 letter words?

It just takes time. Words gives you the “strength of the word” if you tap on the green dot in the corner after you lay the tiles out, which essentially equates to the amount of points your word is worth out of the most amount of points you would be able to get that turn. So if it’s a low score you just spend more time looking for the best word you can play, and you can get it just about 90% of the time

100% agreed and pretty much my gripe with honestly both games..... FF12 super bosses are extremely challenging and overall gameplay if played the correct way and not cheating to get gear you shouldn't have til late game was extremely fun. But like you said the story was pretty trash and it was just a go here to get this go here to get this and none of it in the end mattered. Wasn't put together well.


I never realized how easy FFX was until my replay when the remaster came out..... like you said it's my favorite of all the FF stories, 7 might have been the best but just seems too all over the place. If you haven't played the Dark Aeons / Penance yet though trust me that is a real pain in the ass

Oh, that much be a newer feature. That sort of takes the fun out of it. My mom used "words with friends cheat" and got similarly high scores.

Yeah idk, you still have to find the right word, it just lets you know what your potential is.

I wouldn’t ever use the cheat in a pvp game, but the strength function is available for everyone so I don’t feel bad about it

It's like using an engine in chess to tell you how strong your move was. Cant you turn it off? If you were playing in person, that technology wouldnt be available.
