Not to mention he has 1k yards / season for 16 seasons as a RB. If that isn't HOF worthy Idk what is.

Rb shelf life is like 3.5 years

But the question was if Gore is a 1st ballot HoFer or not though. Which is obvious that some people voting/posting here are missing that, or they simply don't understand it.

Adrian Peterson is 1st ballot worthy and should be. Gore is not though and I love Gore. I loved his play style and he was one of my favorite RBs to watch. Definitely deserves/is a HoFer, but he isn't 1st ballot.

I don't think he is first ballot but some people value longevity and productivity above other stats, albeit he never produced all that great of numbers.
I think if he ended his career after he left San Fran he might have been a 1st ballot.
Guy didnt miss a game for like 7 straight seasons as a running back, most running backs don't even last that long in general lol.

I disagree, I say yes.

I'm not sure I understand letting AP in over Gore as first ballot, Gore had the better career. What's your reasoning with that? AP is the better back, but it's not a popularity contest.

Gore never led the league in anything. He was never the best RB in the league during any season of his career. He was a great player and I value longevity, but he just isn't 1st ballot imo. He's absolutely a HoFer though.

Peterson led the league in rushing 3 times. Led the league in rushing TDs 2 times. Led the league in rushing yards per game 4 times. He was a league MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and Offensive rookie of the year. He was considered as arguably the best RB in football for like 8-9 seasons. He has a 2k rush yard season. Double digit rushing TDs in 8 season. Gore only had 1 double digit rushing TD season. The list goes on and on man.

I love Gore, but he isn't on the same boat as Peterson. Peterson was a different kind of dude and that's no disrespect to Gore at all.

No disagreement from me that Peterson is the better back, but I personally think you're minimizing his collective work based on him missing like star quality seasons (even though Gore carried a franchise on his back)

My argument would be more of: who else is in the HOF class, because in my book he's a 1st ballot yes.

I'm not though.

When those 49ers teams were good, they were carried by the Defense. Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman etc etc. Before that Defense got built and they brought in Harbaugh, those teams with Gore leading the way finished like 3rd in the Division every year.

The class will definitely have a factor, but even then I dunno about 1st ballot. There will be plenty of back logged guys who need to get in.

Fred Taylor should get in before Gore honestly.
