Canucks just awful in the faceoff dot, among other things.

Frustrating game.

Our best lines are the bottom 6 lol. The top 6 needs to get their shit together. If they performed, the team most likely have won.

Lots of fans crying about kuzemenko scratch too, but the dude has been shooting LESS instead of more. Idk if he's a stat watcher and he's trying to increase his shot% but it doesn't make any sense to me lol. Karlsson wasn't bad on the 4th line, they won board battles and hemmed the blues in their own zone so our top 6 comes off the bench with fresh legs. Just couldn't finish. That's exactly what our team needs from the bottom 6. Don't think kuzemenko cheating the system would've done much to help. Although I'd argue the PP might've looked more dangerous with him on it than not. Hopefully he won't be just a pp merchant

Lekkermaki killing it in the tourney, dpetey and Walliander also look very promising. Lekkermaki seems like the sniper Petey needs desperately on his line, but eh seems like still a couple years away

Drance and Dhaliwal mention Jake Guentzel, Jordan Greenway, Dante Fabbro and Chris Tanev as names to keep an eye on as potential trade targets. They sense that the 1st round pick and prospects - excluding Lekkerimaki and Willander - could be in play.

Ooof idk about that cost for a rental. Unless geuntzel signs and meshes with Petey or something.

Canucks desperately need a top-line winger and Guentzel fits the mould but it would definitely need to come with an extension, even if that raises the cost.

Tanev is definitely going to cost a 1st, but he's a perfect fit for what we need. Him and Soucy could make quite the quality defensive pair which leaves Zadorov and Cole to combine for a very strong 3rd pairing.

The combined cost of the two players would be our next two firsts + Hoglander/Podkolzin (whichever one the Pens value more) + one of our better prospects that isn't Lek or Wil + the 3rd round pick or whatever we get for Myers.

Hard to gauge what Guentzel would cost. He has an NTC and he's headed to UFA for a big payday but he'll be in very high demand. Dubas is also under pressure to make the playoffs so unless the Pens are way out of a spot at the deadline he won't make a move. So I wouldn't count on him either being available or us being able to afford what another team might pay.

In terms of rental wingers, Hartman might be an interesting choice with the Wild looking mild. He's the kind of player that makes room for others with his shitbag play, while being good at cashing in pucks in close. If he actually wants to waive his NMC to Van he'd probably be cheap since he'll almost certainly re-sign with Minnesota in the offseason. Not ideal because he doesn't have the skill level we'd want and you wonder if his personality would be an issue with Tocchet, but could be our best shot.

My pipedream is that Allvin takes advantage of the chaos in Ottawa and finds a way to nab Batherson. For him you make everyone available, including Lek and Willander.

For the blueline we'll probably be trying to overpay for Tanev. Fabbro would actually be my target but he's still an RFA, highly unlikely the Preds would trade him even if they decide to sell and Fabbro wants to come home.

Would be a dream if canucks got ehlers, cos they seem to not like him playing line 1 minutes cuz of Kyle connor. Despite ehlers playing well lol.

Alvin be cooking, another homerun. Added someone that check A LOT of boxes for Canucks needs. They desperately needed a center that is right handed, not many good ones around the league, especially that plays top 6.
Lindholm is right handed 1C, doesn't have to play like 1C with the Canucks. He is an elite defensive forward, which is music to tochett's ears. He also PK's which should help the Canucks boost their average PK.
Petey needed a player that has a quick release/finish, kuzmenko used to do that but for some reason he couldn't under tocchet's system.

Kuzmenko was a free asset, and hunter B was a steal for a 3rd round pick, but used those as leverage and turned them into Lindholm from a division rival and beat out Edmonton, Boston, Colorado's offer.

There's rumor that Tanev might be coming to vancouver on a separate deal, i hope he comes back. He would solidify the d core even more, despite losing a bit of a step.
