Ya, at least he showed he is determined to improve. MacEwen seems he got too comfortable and lost his identity in the team. Like he doesn't care tbh. I think the reason they had MacEwen over Gajovich is being able to pk but that's not saying much imo.

So long as they fix it by the regular season I will live.

On a live chat now and they say it is a temporary glitch.

Taking pictures of the conversation so I can bitch later if this continues.

I just use my laptop to Chromecast the stream, it's less hassle for me

Also the Canucks are looking good, are we the only team still icing half assed roster while everyone else is playing almost their final roster?

We gave up 2 pp goals from a 2 man adv, missing our first pair D oel/poolman, entire core line of Pearson, horvat, hogs. And boeser. Demko resting as well.

Oh and also motte/Sutter basically the 4th line that would play huge chunk of our pk.

Dunno what the situation is with hamonic is as well, sucks he got some personal problems hes dealing with when he looked like he got some sort of chemistry with Hughes towards the end of last season.

Podkolzin is definitely making the team, he's not finishing but I like the fact that the kid is already forcing himself to the net with power moves. He will eventually get better and score eventually or at least create rebound opportunities for his teammates. He did far more of this in pre season games than virtnanen's entire career lol

He has the drive. You can tell the kid really wants to show what he can do. Think it is just a matter of time before he becomes a fan favourite based on dogged determination alone.

excited for this season,

this current game the teams are actually pretty close neck to neck. Sog, faceoffs, Puck possession time, and ozone time they're only like 10 seconds apart if not even. I also noticed Petey is winning a lot more faceoffs than before, i guess he has been practicing.

lmfao wtf poolparty just slewfooted or something on dickinson away from the puck, dickinson got so mad

MacEwen and Kassian has a pointless fight, Kassian seems like he's out with an injury. He dropped hard after taking a punch and his head hit the ice without his helmet on.

just can't get excited like you are Secksii.

Podz doesn't look NHL ready yet. the drive is there, not the skill or ability to think at NHL speed yet. needs 1-2 years to grow still. Can't expect him to transform the top 9, he'll struggle if he stays. Hogs also looking like he's on a sophomore slump, although that could've been just using the preseason to catch up.

OEL should do fine as the top minute eater for now but good lord Myers is going to drag him down so hard.

we have a litany of straight scrubs too - at least not as overpaid, but still... Schenn, Highmore, Giuseppe, Downling would all struggle to make any other lineup. Petan is simply not an NHL player and I don't know why he keeps getting chances around the league. Chiasson is the only one of the bunch who looks like he can provide wins above replacement.

Then the core is still raw to an extent, and aren't always reliable themselves... Miller with his rage-passes to create meaningless turnovers, streaky Petey who can't buy a goal suddenly, Demko can't always be god and Hughes typical turnover machine who's a cut or two below the league's top young D-men (poor Poolman)... they can go deep but need a strong supporting cast, and they don't have that. most of the rest are trying to not collapse around themselves.

Rathbone seized his chance to secure a spot at least, but that's just a small dim in a sea of darkness.

oh yeah - a few injuries and like 1/3 of the roster will be AHL caliber. zero organizational depth if the infirmary gets busy and straight to fighting for a lottery spot.

same old shit - core tasked to score as many goals as possible to make up for anchors dragging everyone else down, and pray goaltending holds up. I don't trust Green one bit to salvage the roster.

Maybe I am overly optimistic but I don't expect that from Miller this season. First year he was in Vancouver you did not see that kind of trash from him.

Hard to make much of the preseason. I think it is safe to say just about everyone had a bad year least season, so I would imagine we will at least be better than least year.

I agree with a lot of what you said though. There are guys that will make this team as bottom pair d-men and 4th liners that would never crack the roster on most teams. There is a lack of depth without question.

I think Podz will develop quickly. Maybe I am setting expectations a bit too high but I really think this kid is going to do everything he can to make a difference. I do worry about rushing him and ruining a solid prospect though.
