Playing each team 9-10 times and the Canucks are beyond predictable on the powerplay.


Furthermore it is obvious the PK is weaker this year too.


This team is so far under the gun just on special teams, let alone 5v5.

Too undisciplined, the pk is worse after losing tanev and Eriksson.

PP was the reason why Canucks was so successful last season, it's exposing the team when pp is dogshit

but we gotta remember guys, this season and next season is just whatever, once the atrocious contracts are over, that's when the window is open to legitimately compete. All the core will be locked up, and ton of cap space to add and compliment them. Also get to see which prospects are ready to be in the roster like hog/pod/lind etc.

true, our depth is awful and it's pretty clear we can't except Demko/Holtby to carry the deadweight like Marky did last season.

but problem is that the window isn't going to be that wide as it is. we're gonna have literally one season before Miller and Horvat hit UFA, even Hoglander gets paid as RFA then. with Petey/Hughes/Boeser getting fat paydays before then we'll lose one or two of the core players. hoping we have another GM to make it work, considering all the deadweight Benning accumulated is why the window is closed right now.

yeah sadly benning is no sakic, but no one is, he's a fucking legend
At least he set up a good foundation so far, and there's a good chance to make it work like tampa as long as he keeps the cap compliant. Although benning's FA signings have been pure trash, his re-signing of his players have been pretty fair or surprisingly cheap than expected. If Benning feels Green can't do much to adjust in the next 2 years when it's whatever, that's probably when he tries to get some proven coach like Gallant or some shit when they're ready.
