yeah sadly benning is no sakic, but no one is, he's a fucking legend
At least he set up a good foundation so far, and there's a good chance to make it work like tampa as long as he keeps the cap compliant. Although benning's FA signings have been pure trash, his re-signing of his players have been pretty fair or surprisingly cheap than expected. If Benning feels Green can't do much to adjust in the next 2 years when it's whatever, that's probably when he tries to get some proven coach like Gallant or some shit when they're ready.

In the very least if Green is replaced post-game interviews will be a bit more exciting.

That guy has the personality of a dead fish lol.

Honestly I'm not surprised the Canucks power play sucks. Last season was only good because of preds skewing the stats, still had the same shitty moments. On top of that, Canucks struggled against Canadian teams while demolishing American teams like blues, Colorado, nashvillr, Chicago etc.

Apparently this is how it looked against Canadian teams for the power play from reddit

oilers 0/4

flames 0/6

jets 0/2

oilers 1/3

oilers 0/2

senators 1/2

leaf 0/2

canadiens 1/4

oilers 1/2

flames 2/5

jets 0/4

flames 0/3

canadiens 2/2

senators 1/2

leafs 0/2

This is 9 powerplay goals on 45 attempts, which is an even 20%, which was just below league average last year, and far below our total average last year of 24.15%.

If you want to include the last 4 games as well;

oilers 0/2

oilers 0/5

Flames 0/4

flames 0/4

This turns into 60 total powerplay opportunities against our Canadian division rivals, and craters our power play percentage down to an even 15% conversion on these opportunities.

Canucks Record Last Season vs. Canadian Teams: 5-10-0

While Habs have best record against Canadian teams, and then the leafs. I think my guess for North division ranking on the other thread will be fairly accurate. Especially if Canucks stay winless against jets too

Petey’s 2 handed slash on Monahan in the O zone was dramatic. And right after getting out of the box. That long neck brotosaurus lookin guy has a temper.

Must be an absolute trainwreck with the STL special teams lol.

Were 0 for 9 on the PP and we've killed 6 of 14 PKs so far.

Yes, you read that correctly; the blues have allowed 8 PP goals on 14 attempts so far.

Its astonishing were 2-1

At least your team knows not to take much penalties cuz they know its shit, Canucks doesn't seem to notice they don't have markstrom and tanev to bail them out on the PK anymore and take more penalties anyway

14 Pks in 3 games isnt much less than 21 in 4 games.

We lost 3 of our top Pkers from last year in steen, petro, and jbo and it shows.
