ur missing the point though, he shot that many times on net and many of them goes in thus he's close to catching up to make records in NHL history in this era.
A lot of players cant even get their shots through, or hit their mark most of the time, especially when other teams study you and learn how to defend against you when u consistently start scoring goals throughout your career.
Kessel started his career roughly around when ovechkin started his, kessel's career s% is much lower, and he's no where close in goals. Whys that?
Stammer has high s%, give him 400 more games to catch up to ovie and see if he can score 300 goals to catch up which is like 60 goals per the next 5 seasons.
Tarasenko's another good sniper, give him like another 600 games to catch up to ovie, and see if he can score 500+ in those 600 games.
