I mean Ovi has had Backstrom for years.
He’s had plenty of good centers and playmakers.
Just always ran into that goalie who played out of his mind.

I have said this all the time to my fellow Crosby loving, Ovechkin hating roommates.

Difference imho is Crosby is a center and having 2 strong centers has proven to be vital in the playoffs. Before this he's only had backstrom. Kuzy is lighting it up finally and playing like he should be, and being consistent, giving them that 2nd solid center. He took a big step back last year from 2015-2016. No knock against ovie at all. It's well known that's center > wingers.

well, ovie is literally the BEST goal scorer in NHL in my books so it's not that surprising to me, but that is a sick fact.
