been on a Gordon Ramsey binge lately. watching Kitchen Nightmares and comparing the different versions is really funny:
British: Well-regarded restaurant struggling after a major hurdle, like losing a good chef or making a risky investment. Gordon trains chefs and comes up with new dishes. Stubborn owner needs to be convinced on things like new prices or decor. Gordon calmly narrates the events.
American: Owners have no idea what the fuck they're doing because parents gave them the restaurant or they had more money than sense. Chefs microwave everything. Staff hate managers and owners. Shitton of drama. ADHD editing and musical cues telling you how to feel.
I watched all 17 or so seasons of hells kitchen on prime video during the first year of the pandemic. Just a wild ride
