He was just the type of guy that after that happened he was very reluctant to share his investment plans with this side of the family, since most of all of us didnt invest... he has just been coming around over the last year helping out... probably feels bad lmao

I got a couple decent investments right now and a few super randoms.

Still learning everyday.

Im makimg great money now and have some shell now..

Aiming for a down payment on a house in Toronto before im 35 yrs old

before making these sorts of decisions you always have to weight your exposure, your risk, what returns might look like, etc... nothing wrong with staying put if you don't feel qualified or informed enough. tons of people get destroyed trying to get rich quick. it's the norm, in fact.

my grandparents were smart and had very good jobs but had nothing to pass down because they were very gullible and pissed their money in whatever investment scam was trendy in their days.

ya and uefa is threatening to fine, to be honest i agree, part of the reason why him and his teams makes so much money is from sponsorships, so unless he is going to cover other people who drinks coke's losses on his team he should've kept quiet or privately ask that next time they put something else up. Dasani or something that Coke also owns.

I still like it when Charles Barkley was asked to do a speech for the young black kids about politics and his response was my job is to put the ball through the hoops I shouldn't be preaching that kind of stuff and I agree

So my buddy got a new job offer which pays 3x his current income. He told me the downside is that there's no room for growth and he will most likely be stuck there for awhile. He will also be the first one to be laid off if there's a slim chance cuz he's the most junior.

The current job he has, which he is currently kicking ass in, has a lot of room for growth and he can continue to make a name for himself and build his reputation. He also has the seniority, so he has job security. However he doesn't know when the position will open up for him to continue growing.

He said that he's currently happy what he's doing, but he would obviously like the 3x raise and the current company can't match that. So he could eventually make more than 3x later on, but that could be unknown amount of years.

What would you guys do? I told him to stay cuz he's happy and he will eventually get the raise while becoming a legend

this depends on the personality of the person, cause im sure he will work more, and/or may not be as comfortable as to where he is currently working, less vacation etc, but to move ~100k more in pay instantly, idk how you can reject that, even if he sticks with it for a few years then goes elsewhere.. i feel would take quite a while with his current employment to get to that amount

i feel people that move companies/take different jobs get an increase an income much faster than sticking with it for the same company. you get comfortable and everything, but hell it took me around 7 years at my current company to move 2x my initial salary, where i know of others switching it up every few years have been getting more. may depend on the industy as well i guess
