well i did say "a bit" not just hot, i don't wanna dig too deep into it but you called out his thing that his family is involved in and that he personally believes in straight up so it was likely going to escalate

could've just said no thanks. but maybe that's the canadian in me, sorry lol

To each their own, many questionable "investments" have gone both ways.. just sharing something here for a change and expected some comments from both directions... not sure which one of you joined... but glhf

I'd go for the 2nd no doubt. No such thing as corporate loyalty - if they don't want to try matching the raise, then they clearly don't value his skills as much as other employers and will make him expandable.

While he might not get promotions in his new job so long as the skills he picks up are transferable its totally fine, and he'll be compensated very well either way.
