This is exactly why I am so baffled blocking Keystone is seen as some sort of monumental environmental victory.

It is not like opposing pipelines is going to magically eliminate demand for oil and solve all the environmental problems that come attached with our demand for oil.

They only do one thing so they're easy targets. But it's also because oil companies are fucking trash at picking up after themselves and usually taxpayers are the ones left picking up the bill for spills.

keystone is more of an image thing, it was originally proposed in 2005 because the US refineries needed more oil to keep up with demands, but ever since it got stuck in regulatory turmoil for 15+ years companies and governments have adjusted to keep up with the demand, other via rail or other pipelines. Don't forget, under Obama's terms, the states built 3 x the length of the proposed XL pipeline domestically, to supply oil from the west to the east that originally wasn't possible, hence the need for Keystone XL originally.

None of the major Canadian oil sands producers thought it was going to go through. Of course, it would be a pleasant surprised if somehow it got approved and built but they already had contingency plans active.

For Biden it was an easy kill, no real work was done on it, and he can boasts about how much he kept his election promise after that. Just like how Trumped boasted about how he approved it, but he didn't really push it either because there was no real need other than to signal his support for oil. Enbridge's line 3 on the other hand combined with Transmountain will more than make up the "loss" from Keystone XL.

IF the Biden administration shuts down Line 3 which is already pretty much close to completion, then I'd take him to be really serious about being an environmentalist, it would be really retarded but I think that would really appease the environmental fringe groups.

When it was first leaked, it was said that the studio Vicarious Visions was working on it for Blizzard. This same studio has done remaster projects in the past, including the Tony Hawk series.

VV has now been absorbed by Blizzard, and has been assigned to the existing games division.
