I hope they trade couts and the number 2 time to load up and get this ship sailing the right way

what...and who exactly would they bring in to get the ship sailing in the right direction?
because im thinking with hischier we finally get the sniper we need for the top 6
our young guys are coming up that should improve our defense a large margin
we got goalies developing at a fast rate and atm our goalie situation isnt that bad we have had worse lol

with giroux and filp as the 1-2 c couts is a great 3c and we can use the 3rd line as the shutdown line
why would you want to trade 2nd pick if we get hischier guys going to be fucking insane

next season we should have the offense and defense to hang its all on how hextall handles the goalie situation
if we are rocking neuvy/stolarz ... might work might not if we sign mason after expansion draft even better

Should just roll with Stolarz IMO with Neuvy as backup, Neuvy isnt the goalie of the future... They'll be a fringe playoff team again next year, its time to see if we have some resemblance of a #1 NHL G for the first time in what seams like forever.

Couts is good at two things, defending opposing stars and getting hurt, outside of that hes poop

Ill admit i was shooting to shit about the pick idk shit about hockey prospects or what they could be just knew they wouldnt be eichel/mcdavid status, but maybe they will? Inform me

Duchane and landiskog i read could be trade options

he looked good but he did have 1 average game and he hasnt played much in the nhl to just throw him in as a starter imo
i could see stolarz being a 1b splitting time with neuvy but idk i feel like they sign mase still after expansion draft id be down for a mase/stolarz duo

the top 2 picks are looking like great players maybe not quite mcdavidesque but not far under and the 3+ picks fall off a bit is the general consensus
nolan patrick has been assumed as the #1 for some time but hischier has developed and played insanely good making himself talks of a potential 1st overall

i laughed at this vid "How to stop Swiss sensation Nico Hischier" 2:03-2:26 is jokes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ki__CYrAbP0
heres a youtube vid of hischiers goals in 1st half or so of this season

so to add more onto our goalie situation after doing some research these are the rules for expansion draft for players being left exposed
i) One defenseman who is a) under contract in 2017-18 and b) played in 40 or more NHL games the prior season OR played in 70 or more NHL games in the prior two seasons.
ii) Two forwards who are a) under contract in 2017-18 and b) played in 40 or more NHL games the prior season OR played in 70 or more NHL games in the prior two seasons.
iii) One goaltender who is under contract in 2017-18or will be a restricted free agent at the expiration of his current contract immediately prior to 2017-18. If the club elects to make a restricted free agent goaltender available in order to meet this requirement, that goaltender must have received his qualifying offer prior to the submission of the club's protected list.

All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits).

i believe we need to use the save spot on stolarz with his ELC running out giving him 3 years pro and expose neuvirth
the neuvirth contract imo is just to meet the requirements without having to expose mase or stolarz and we can sign mase after expansion draft
thats why i think we can still get a mase/stolarz duo next season and neuvirth not even be in the picture whether hes on vegas or traded

in terms of what skaters we save
* Clubs will have two options for players they wish to protect in the Expansion Draft:
a) Seven forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender
b) Eight skaters (forwards/defensemen) and one goaltender

konecny& provorov should be exempt so im thinking we save something like
stolarz
giroux
simmonds
voracek
schenn
couts
filpulla
weal
ghost

that would be my choice for 8 skaters if we go 7-3 maybe like
ghost gudas macdonald/manning? macdonald may need to be forced with a NMC/NTC and manning only guy left not a FA if not

this would leave us like read wiese cousins raffl bellmare potentially macdonald exposed which isnt bad
rest of the D are becoming UFA and wont be sticking around anyways

2. Philadelphia Flyers - Nico Hischier, C, Halifax (QMJHL)

Hischier's elite skill and hockey sense is combined with a complete level that allows him to be effective in any style of game. Hischier (6-1, 176) was 10th in the QMJHL with 86 points (38 goals, 48 assists) in 57 games and was named rookie of the year and best pro prospect in the league.

https://www.nhl.com/flyers/news/flyers-sign-forward-oskar-lindblom--philadelphia-flyers/c-289674250

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed forward Oskar Lindblom to an entry-level contract

52 gp 22g 25a 47p in swedens top league at 20 years old was good for 4th best in league points wise
he came over and played for LHV for 8 games and had 7p in 15/16 after his swedish season was over
i remember him in WJC for sweden too 2 tournys 15p in 14 games

guy could be a nice steal for a 5th rounder seems to produce where ever he plays

also Guillaume Lepage did a mock draft where the devils take hischier first and flyers get patrick
i want hischier :(
his thought on hischier and why first - the most complete forward in the draft.

Flyers hire Knoblauch as assistant coach
http://www.tsn.ca/flyers-hire-knoblauch-as-assistant-coach-1.772630

sounds like a very accomplished jr coach thats good at managing young players

Knoblauch is coming off an Ontario Hockey League title and four consecutive 50-win seasons

Getting his first major-league coaching job is the next logical step for the 38-year-old Knoblauch, who is very well-regarded around hockey. Agent Jeff Jackson has been glad to send McDavid and prospects Taylor and Darren Raddysh, Travis Dermott and Alex DeBrincat to Erie, where Knoblauch improved their NHL stock

Knoblauch also had a hand in the development of Washington Capitals forward Andre Burakovsky and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Connor Brown in Erie and Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart during his time coaching the Kootenay Ice, which included a Western Hockey League championship.

As Dylan Strome listed the Erie Otters' accomplishments over the past few years and the talented players to come out of the junior program, the Arizona Coyotes' top prospect quickly gave credit to Kris Knoblauch, the coach who made it happen.
"He'll be in the NHL in no time," Strome said recently.
