Whoever saying he’s being carried by 97 is a dolt. Draisaitl has stepped it up this year big time. And when mcdavid was sick for a few games the suspended shortly after he went something like 12p in 6 game? (iirc)

Hell, one can make the argument mcdavid woukdnt have 115+ pts without Draisaitl either now.

Yup, agreed.
So many fans where complaining that he’s lazy and can’t ‘drive his own line’
He’s a big guy who thinks the game more so than skates around like a maniac. Not lazy. Good players play better together and ofc he’s not gonna do as well with 2 ahl’ers on his wing.
I wonder did some Colorado fans have the same thing with McKinnen and Rantanen? Or is it just cause both 97 and 29 are natural centres

Draisatl has proven that can can produce on his own as well, so it also irritates me that so many figure he is just reaping the rewards of playing with Mcdavid and not doing any heavy lifting himself.

Glad he shut them up. I have always liked his play. He thinks the game well and is exceptional at protecting the puck.
