I don't think you necessarily need a #1, just a RH who can consistently play against top lines alongside Rielly.

However, even if that player isn't a #1, he's going to cost a lot. Top-4 right handers aren't cheap, I imagine any team offering one to the Leafs is asking for Nylander straight up.

I would imagine teams may be asking for Nylander+ if the price is a RH top 4 D, depending on who it is.

Which teams have something like that to offer? I would imagine Leafs would want a young-ish guy, but someone who is in the league now and not a prospect. Wasn't Faulk being shopped?

maybe better off for the leafs to sit this one out until the off season where teams can make bigger moves he might fetch more and interest from more teams
i feel like there isnt many teams that would want to give up a top 4 d man for a player that might not play this year and is asking for what 8m?

Trade call hasn’t happened yet. The sense is this one could be quite complicated purely from a financial/salary cap point of view and so, perhaps more than usual, this is by no means a done deal until it’s done with the trade call.
