Bum wasnt gonna play anyways, blessing in disguise for this terrible signing.. now the 76ers can recoup $2 million for someone who might actually contribute

You're right about that, he wasn't going to see the floor regardless. Embiid, Reed, and Bamba eat up the minutes at the 5. Then again, it sounds like Paul Reed could be playing the 4 moving forward under Nurse, where he fits better anyway (and it makes sense why they're willing to pay him do much).

I see you still hate Trez though from the ladder incident though 🤣

Fyi...The DPE would be worth 50% of Harrell’s salary in FA ($1,009,853) and 50% + $100K in a trade ($1,109,853) — both below the minimum.

@wojespn: "ESPN Sources: The 76ers have ended trade talks on guard James Harden and plan to bring him back to training camp for start of the season. The Sixers had periodic offseason conversations with the Clippers — Harden’s desired destination — but no traction on a deal materialized.

Sixers and Harden agreed to seek a trade together after Harden picked up his player option for 2023-2024, but Philly believes it has a championship team with Harden and want to find a way to make it work with him this season, sources said.

Harden has been emphatic in wanting a trade, so the Sixers are setting up an uncomfortable situation to start camp. Ultimately, Philadelphia wouldn’t make a trade that they believed would compromise their title hopes."

It felt this was the most likely outcome all along. Very much over the whole Harden ordeal

Would make sense if Harden didn't have a history of doing this to every team

He literally demanded a trade to Philly originally 🤔

Harden was the 13th best player in the nba last year using catch all metrics

Brown stole his All-NBA spot, FVV got paid max salary. also Harden took less last season with what was probably a formal/informal promise that the 76ers would take care of him. Harden and his agent are rightfully looking at this as a betrayal. Morey completely bent him over. He promised a long term deal, backed out on it. Then convinced Harden to opt into a 1 year deal with a promise of accommodating him, then played hard ball until the Clippers walked. So he’s been lied to twice by Morey.

he was great in the regular season, pulled his usual vanishing act in the playoffs albeit did pop off a few games
