I will not take pleasure in watching him do big things for another team. We're probably going to end up watching Wentz do great in Indy and now Simmons do great elsewhere.

But it must be done.

I like the sixers tbh, I like how they’ve built their team, I like the passion and loyalty of their fans, but they absolutely bungled this Simmons situation. Doc/Embiid and the fans drove him out of the organization. He deserves a lot of blame for his play in the second round, but at the end of the day you gotta stand by your guy.

How do you stand by a guy who has shown zero interest to improve his weakness? He has zero care to even attend off season workout programs to develop a offensive game outside the paint.

Idk this seems like an anomaly, he’s obviously worked hard enough to get to where he is today, and being an excellent defender takes hustle and preparation. You don’t typically characterize all-defensive players as lazy. Makes me feel like with the right motivation and training program he could improve his offensive weaknesses, or you just take him for what he is without a jumper, which is still a phenomenal player.

You don't shoot sub 50% from FT and never shoot 3s having put in work, I'm sorry. I always thought Simmons was a great player but no excuse for that level of play against Atlanta. He's gotta go.

But he has worked on his jumper in the off-season, we've seen it year after year with videos of him shooting threes no issue draining them etc etc etc

Then game time comes and....no thanks.

Only reason he'd offer this (if true) is to get pieces that he could use to build a package to Portland or Washington for Dame or Beal. That's it.

Playing next to Steph and Klay though? Got dayum, Simmons would be in the perfect spot.
