Philly loves giving bums max contracts though

I love how DM was on here justifying both Tobias and Horford on their contracts while simultaneously mocking Middleton getting paid, now dude is 2nd team All-NBA

Their contracts are indefensible

Middleton is better than both for sure
But let's not pretend he didnt disappear last year
Bucks might be reigning champions if he showed up and the Warriors suffered those same injuries

Middleton can't play elite defense and then be expected to produce elite offense simultaneously, at least not full-time. This is where plug-ins like Marvin Williams and Donte DiVincenzo will be valuable

Also it helps if you don't have useless defenders like Mirotic completely suck dick from 3 also. With Korver it's expected that he can't play defense but I suspect he will shoot better than 5-29 from 3

because that's a recognizable limitation in Middleton, it's that simple. which if that is the case, it makes perfect sense to relieve him from assigning him to an elite offensive player on defense.

Actually I kinda like a Klay for Simmons straight up swap for the Warriors

Absolutely not, Sixers would never.

Klay is 30 coming off a major knee injury.

Simmons is 23 and hasn't even sniffed his prime years yet.

Don’t be delusional dude. Klay is a fair value main component in a Simmons trade. Especially if everyone is fully aware that the Sixers can’t make the Embiid and Simmons duo work. That said, even if they fail in spectacular fashion this season, they will more than likely fire their coach and try again next season. At that point if it still isn’t working out, I think it will come to a crossroad where they choose between Embiid and Simmons. Embiid offers more impact but has shown he isn’t committed to staying conditioned. Additionally Embiid would fetch more in a trade. It could still go the other way and they try to trade Simmons, his attitude hasn’t been great at times, given that he outright refuses to shoot outside 8ft

there are 0 stats that says embiid doesn't work with simmons, stats actually says lineup featuring embiid/simmons on floor together amongst top in nba every single season

but even if that weren't the case, point still stands. klay coming off a major injury and just because he's a good shooter doesn't mean shit.

we need mainly need ball handlers, klay can barely fucking dribble.
