[O'Connor] Spurs turned down a Sixers offer that would have sent them Simmons. Philly wanted back four first round picks, three first round pick swaps, and a young player in return.

Hilarious.

Per WoJ
Philly trying to get a Har_en esque packet for Simmons.
They're canvassing the league for offers.

Sounds like DM's boy isn't going to get the kind of return Philly thinks he should get.
His value isn't going to go up magically throughout the season either. Unless he shows he can make defenses pay for sagging off him.

He's not a top player in the league, he's not even the best player on his team. With questions if Harris > Simmons.

We've already established that Morey is setting the bar high, he has said it himself lol. He's not going to dump Simmons for nothing, that's absurd and only casuals believe that shit. He can literally go into next season, watch Simmons have yet another All-Star season and be on the 1st team All-Defensive team again and trade him at that point when his value is higher. Trading him now is deal so they can get a full camp and don't mess up the flow or chemistry of the team, but it's not 100% necessary. This isn't a "trade me now or i'm not playing" situation. Simmons hasn't even demanded a trade, his agent apparently just said they're on board with a trade elsewhere if it happens.

Imagine drafting a guy #1 overall and then four years later when he's still only 24 he's already made 3 All-Star teams, 2x All-Defensive 1st teams, and has an All-NBA selection as well and the team has their best season in over 20 years. Then you trade him...for nothing? Not happening, not on Morey's watch.

People put a LOT of blame on this guy in the second round, and rightfully so. But at the end of the day he's not the only reason they lost to the Hawks, and he's a HUGE reason why they had the #1 seed and were as good as they were up until that point. People don't realize they would have NEVER even sniffed the #1 seed had they not had Simmons, he was vital all season long to their success.

I enjoy saying it over and over again.

Facebook is really bad, i don't even respond there. I read comments on main pages and the casuals are just unbelievable. Had this one guy say to me with a straight face "best they can get is a late 1st or maybe a 2nd round pick now" and he was dead serious. I can't entertain that lmao

Ben Simmons will most likely be traded within the next 48 hours, possibly tonight during the NBA DRAFT. per Woj

Source: The Sixers hope to trade Ben Simmons tonight. The asking price remains the same. The relationship seems to be over. It’s not a matter of if anymore, but when. Per Jason Dumas
