Private companies are allowed to hinder free speech. Free speech ONLY protects you from the government.
I find it terribly hypocritical that you accuse us of believing biased news sources while you yourself have succumbed to propaganda.
Don't embarrass yourself.
That's how I read this as well.
Not saying American doesn't have propaganda or bias with its major news networks (it does), but it's pretty obvious Judson is repeating some propaganda with his post. His main rebuttals are whataboutisms (America has propaganda too! You're just spouting propaganda! America has civil unrest too! And more crime!). But that's not really a counterpoint—that's just muddying the waters. Denouncing any criticism or unfavorable news coverage as anti-China propaganda is the equivalent of covering your ears and shouting "fake news!"
I mean if I lived in China for 7 years, reaped the benefits of their economic prosperity, and was subjected to state-run media, I might develop pro-Chinese sympathies as well. However, looking at it objectively, China does not support democratic values. Their influence in the world economy poses a threat to free speech worldwide.
