its not just about the dunk but also the showmanship, the speed, the power, and how many attempts it took

I mean it was awesome for sure. VC was fun.

But the dunks he did have all been done, and some.

As an example the two best free throw line dunks IMO are still 88 Jordan and 92 Conley

The closest modern free throw line dunk competing with Jordan and Conley is LaVine in 2016

My point is if ballers are so much more athletic, why can't they outperform dunks from 30+ years ago?

You could even argue Dr Js 1976 free throw line dunk is better than LaVine's

Free throw line dunk? How about free throw line dunk while doing a windmill.

LaVine traveled, MJ had a proper dribble and still had a cleaner dunk from greater distance
