How did embiid win mvp over jokic?

This off-season the NBA should rescind that award and Joel should personally hand-deliver it to his daddy.

On the bright side, Doc is a great coach for the faux mvp since they both share the choke gene.

Keep maxey and waive the rest of the team

Embiid won MVP because he was deserving and was the best player in the league this season.

Unfortunately, Embiid played the best team in the second round. While Jokic faced two garbage defenses in the first two rounds.

Another disappointing end

First order of business: Fire Doc Rivers

2. Hire Monty Williams, former Sixers assistant coach

3. I’ll drive Harden to the airport for them. He gets a one way ticket to Houston

4. Find a new PG

5. If Embiid requests a trade, proceed to blow it up

Problem with letting Harden go is the Sixers are over the cap regardless. They won't be able to bring in anyone else really. It's pretty much keep him or just don't have anyone else unless Morey pulls some magical trade out of his ass.

In what league? He MIGHT have been the best player in the women's league this season, but that's only because Brittney Griner likes hash for more than just breakfast

Landale would have held Embiid to 15/10 on 30/20 shooting splits

I have no idea what the Sixers do from here. Tobias will be on his last year of his albatross contract, making roughly 40M next year. Harden is a FA now, and he wants to get paid (as he should, he was one of the best PGs in the league last year).

Not sure who they would go for in the MLE free agent market. I'd like to get wing defenders or somebody that isn't Niang. Can't really afford to have him on the floor against the toughest teams in the Eastern Conference. We basically got cooked any time he wasn't on fire and hitting 3 pointers.

What is your wishlist for the Sixers this off season?

Not sure how legitimate it is but Stephen A was saying post game that no team will sign Harden to a long term contract after these playoffs, including Houston, nor would he be able make more than what he could next year if he just opt’s in to the player option in his deal which is about 35m. If he comes back at that price I mean…I guess they’ll live with it

And yeah, as far as who would replace him that is the tricky part

Harden isn't a FA, technically. He has a player option for 1 year remaining that he can opt into, although he'll certainly decline it I'm sure and get a long term deal considering his age and injuries lately. Either way, they need to bring him back. They can't replace him with their cap situation. It'll be interesting to see how Morey handles this.

Harris being an expiring deal is a good thing. He's easy to move for anyone looking to unload and start fresh, or move an expensive piece to rebuild. I'd expect Morey to explore options there to move him, maybe even mid season next year.

Maxey will get extended no brainer next year, he will get a max.

And yeah, definitely need to assess the wings. Need yo upgrade there to challenge the Celtics on the perimeter

It's probably pretty legit but any garbage team(2-3 years away) needing publicity has nothing to lose by bringing in James.
Hornets, Pistons, Pacers, Rockets and maybe 1-2 more teams could bring him in. He might hurt growth a little, but those teams aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
Obv that would mean Harden doesn't care about winning a ring, so I don't see that happening. I think it makes sense for him to stay with Embiid. Not sure where he can go and have a better teammate.

But the man is pretty cooked...Sixers said Tatum had a "Simmons moment" when he passed up a floater with Embiid sitting in the paint

James Harden 4th quarter games 6-7
19 MIN
0-6 FG
2 AST

Last year vs. Heat game 6
0-1 FG
3 AST

He might be worse than Ben Simmons

For anyone who has watched and cheered harden the dude is mentally not there lol. I love him, but he clearly just doesn’t care about winning, even if he says otherwise. His play goes from other worldly one night to flat out lazy and checked out the next. Hell, sometimes he’ll flip the switch between timeouts

In Philly he doesn’t need to be a star every night, but they also can’t afford to have him be a G leaguer either

James Harden’s future with the #Sixers will be determined by the team’s decision to fire or retain Doc Rivers as the head coach, @ramonashelburne said on NBA Today.

“It would be hard to see James [Harden] wanting to come back and play for Doc again,” one team source said.
