bigger loss was probably jj reddit. over 50 % of brett brown's play book was reddit coming off screens. i still remember seeing advanced stats (roughly a year ago), were embiid's/simmons offensive impact numbers took a dump when reddit was on the bench compared to reddit on the floor. going to be interesting how the team is gonna look now on offense. impossible to predict

like this: they certainly gonna miss such an option. not sure if richardson or horford can replace that in the same way.

might work out, might be a struggle on offense. also depends how good simmons will be on offense. the thing is that you cant really rely on embiid to score in every late game situation, cuze he has to get the ball in the high post first, and that might be too hard in certain situations. teams will just front embiid in the post and play ball denial.

Our offense was basically dribble hand offs to JJ Reddit because if you don't use him that way, he doesn't offer much else. Kind of glad we don't have to do that shit anymore. End of game situations, everybody watching and playing knew that dribble hand off was coming. Tobias Harris will relieve that a bit now that they can utilize him differently, that's the hope anyway.

Our offense will most likely be shit but I believe the defense will pay off multiple times over the loss of JJ Reddit.

Removing Butler from the picture will get Tobias more touches and allow us to use him and maximize his ability as a scorer. That's one huge benefit for Tobias, he should see a lot of shots this year and actually play within the flow of the offense that fits him.

That's THE biggest benefit about replacing Butler with Richardson, one less ego to feed. Not that Jimmy was a distraction (he seemed to keep his shit together at least for his contract year) but Richardson embraces that role and doesn't expect or need to be "the" guy or demand a ton of touches. Richardson was forced into the #1 role in Miami and dropped 16+ PPG as their leading scorer and best all-around player and had a good season, but it was clear he's best fit as an off the ball guy or more of a complementary guy on a Championship team able to hit 3's and defend at a high level.

Jimmy needed the ball in his hands, Richardson does not (though Richardson can run point at times). While we lose a star player in Butler, the flow of the offense should theoretically be much better especially with Big Al and his elite passing and ability to create and find other guys for the open shots.

All I know is that teams are about to get clamped the fuck up with this lineup, especially with Thybulle off the bench who looks like a defensive ace and gets his hands on the ball so often it might remind us of Roco.

I'm curious to see a situation where BB puts a lineup like this on the floor:

Simmons
Richardson
Thybulle
Horford
Embiid

Ben Simmons has attempted 1,974 field goals over 161 regular-season games in his NBA career. Only 17 (less than 1% of them) have been from beyond the 3-point arc. Amazingly, fourteen of those 3-pointers have been quarter-end heaves.

Hmm so he's still shooting 0% over 3 years. Got it.

Indeed

But hey, DeRozan shot 15% last year from 3pt, 7-for-45 from deep and Simmoons is better than him already so who's counting
