Im not sure what talking head you listen to but the US out rebounded Canada

https://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2023/game/1009/USA-Canada#tab=boxscore

in fact USA was second over all in rebounds for the tournament.

https://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2023/teamstats

So not sure what bullshit you are saying about how USA is getting out rebounded... Literally just saying shit to sound like you know anything

Austin Reeves also is a plus defensively. Austin also was literally he best player for the US in the loss to Germany. with a +4 boxscore (Cam Johnson doesnt count) Reeves went fucking 21 pts in 24 minutes on .700/.600/.1000. And you are Blaming Reaves? Hello?

I know you kids don't like it. But Austin Reeves is what Peak Physical Performance looks like.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY WATCH BASKETBALL IDK

Be honest: how many team USA games have u watched? My guess it's either 0, or u simply haven't got a clue what u see or talk about.

Lemme make this easier and break it down for u, so u can thank me later.

1st round USA have been cruising as the only somewhat decent opponents they had were Greece, who were missing a few core players, including Giannis. It's pointless to focus on 1st round, as most good teams advanced without any issues ( France excluded). Of course USA destroys everybody.
2nd round is when USA gets tested. The 1st time against Montenegro, a mediocre team even if we talk about Europe only. USA wins by 12 points, but don't get it twisted, it was much closer than that. In fact USA lead by only 3 pts with about 5 mins left. And that's with Montenegro shooting an abysmal 40% from the field and having about 3 times less FTs. With numbers like this it shouldn't have even been close. But it was. U know why? USA got outrebounded 31-49. Montenegro had fucking 23!!! offensive boards, which they turned into 22 2nd chance points, against mere 3 by team USA. Kerr and co promise to use this game as a wake up call and learn from their mistakes.
Then they play Lithuania- team with much higher offensive potential than Montenegro. Again the story is very similar: USA gets outrebounded 27-43, with Lithuania having 18 offensive boards and 17 2nd chance points vs USAs 9 offensive boards and 2 nd chance points. The outcome tho is very different. Team USA only leads twice in this game: 2-0 and 4-2. That's it. That's the only time they were ahead. They trailed by as much as 21.
Looks like this loss draws out a reaction and in Quarter Finals USA dismantles Italy.
Semi Final vs Germany produces another slap. While rebounding numbers are not that bad, USA still give up 12 offensive boards which Germans turn into 25!!! 2nd chance points. USA manages to get 7 with 8pts coming from them. It's simply unacceptable at his level.
They outrebounded Canada, I'll give u that. But there's a very obvious reason for it. I'll leave it for u to work it out.

As for Reaves' defensive woes, there's not much to discuss. He got cooked on multiple occasions by the same guy against Lithuania. Matter of fact i can remember at least 4 different possessions that Reaves was literally ISOed on the post and thoroughly destroyed. 2 of them were and 1s as well. This was a strategy quite a few teams used- attack Reaves 1 vs 1. Schroeder did it, SGA did it etc. But again, u wouldn't be surprised if u've watched it.

He's both. And he should be playing for his homeland.

Edit: Apparently he also has citizenship in France?

imagine how embarrassing it would be for the USA to recruit foreign talent to win in the sport they always dominate in

might as well recruit giannis luka and jokic while you are at it

It's called dual citizenship.

And he also has citizenship in France as well. So he has options.

Call him captain planet, bitch
