is this thread worth the read? need to take a massive deuce.
yes

The key things here that is definitely what Judson's concern is:
1. NBA organization/players do not have free speech, there are many things that can't be said otherwise.
They have sponsorships they must respect and there is a laundry list of things that people in the NBA organization wouldn't say right now. So if you were to apply this to China being a 'sponsor' then it is simply adding to the list statements which are controversially concerning to said sponsor.
In that case there is no difference, so 'China' has a point there, as a sponsor, it is detrimental to impede and comment on that sponsors controversial subjects.
2. The media focuses on certain things
Remember that it is Western media that are coining the term 'democracy demonstratists' as opposed to 'violent protestors' that trashed Hong Kong parliament causing it to relocate for several months, and have caused already millions of dollars of damage, having killed police officers. etc.
Now, That does not mean that these 'demonstrators' do not have a point.
I know in history every single time a Sovereignty transitioned from archaic forms of rule to more modern inclusive democracy, there has been a revolution. Revolution means death, suffering, and a lot of growing pains.
