In China if you do something the government doesn’t approve of, they drop your “social credit score”
Quote
Like private credit scores, a person's social score can move up and down depending on their behavior. The exact methodology is a secret - but examples of infractions include bad driving, smoking in non-smoking zones, buying too many video games and posting fake news online.
When this happens, the following consequences can apply:
• banning you from flying or using a train
• slowing down your internet speed
• banning your or your kids from “the best” schools
• prevent you from getting jobs
• ban you from “the best” hotel
• having your pets taken away
• being publicly labeled a “bad citizen”
