Silver: "We made clear that we were being asked to fire him, by the Chinese government, by the parties we dealt with, government and business," Silver said. "We said there's no chance that's happening. There's no chance we'll even discipline him."

Adam Silver for the fucking win, thank you. Their initial response was disappointing but god damn this is a win. The best commissioner in professional sports as we know.

Am I the only one that finds China's overly sensitive nature, offensive? Pushy little fuckers...

I am glad to see the NBA will not bow to the expectations of China. Good move imo on NBA's part. US starts letting China run their sports, it will be the beginning of the very end of US lol

Good to see the NBA willing to lose money in order to uphold American values

Actually though,

So far this is a very stand up reaction by the NBA in general.

It seems hard to immediately qauntify the impact of choosing money over democracy and freedom. I am glad the NBA can see things for how they are.

But Absolute commends to the NBA for this. 10% drop in Salary cap is fine. That is nothing compared to the cost of freedom and democracy.

Like actually this is a precedent I hope is continued. I cannot be more proud of being an NBA fan right now.

DEMOCRACY OVER MONEY
FREEDOM OVER SILENCED VOICES!
